Although this boat works great in water, I actually purchased this for our son's sandbox. His other sandbox toys were starting to look a little worn from all the time out in the sun, so it was time to add a few more fresh toys to the mix. This boat is perfect! The plastic is solid and durable, and the colors are really fun. I love that the boat has both a shovel and a rake, which makes it extra fun in sand. If we do decide to bring it inside, it still floats well, and has features on the boat that help it hold and dump water. Regardless of whether you're planning to use in sand or water, definitely recommend!

My 2 year old son loves these boats. He is really afraid of water and hates bath time. He was playing with these boats while giving him a bath, didn’t even cry 😅

So my lab loves having a boat to play with in the pool. His brothers broke his last boat so I have been looking for a replacement. This one is great because the bottom has some give, so they won't break through it as fast. The boat doesn't sink, it can fill with water but it slowly floats back up. That's a nice feature so my dog doesn't need me to get it back out from the bottom of the pool. We didn't need the rake or shovel but they are good quality. Overall, whether for a child or a dog, this is a nice set, well made, and easy to dry/keep clean.

The set is cute but once in the bath the 2 of the boats don't float all that well. They are off balance or need higher sides to the boats to work better in a tub full of water. Grandson still enjoyed them but could have been better.
