Wonderful, healthy, tasty.
What's not to like? Top quality ingredients, great taste for both flavors, blends up great with Silk Almond Milk (no carageenan!), toss in a little Nutiva coconut oil, maybe an apple or banana...yum.I started with PlantFusion, it's protein powder-only product. Loved that, but Phood is total nutrition: I don't feel I have to take other supplements which is really a welcome thing, it's easy to get obsessed with making sure you're taking all you need and keeping track of all those pills gets kind of nuts.I'm also more regular with Phood, probably the probiotics. That's a nice surprise too.I've been using it instead of breakfast most mornings for weeks now...I don't feel hungry again until 1-2 pm or so. Yet I never feel bogged down or sluggish after drinking it. And I use more almond milk than they recommend, probably a quart per meal instead of a 12 oz glass, I think I need more volume to feel full, I don't know if one glass would do it for me. But even "diluted" like that, there's plenty of flavor.I also mix in a lot of ice so it's just shy of a slurpee in consistency. That's how I like it. I don't agree with one poster who said it doesn't taste like vanilla. Sure does to me. I mix both flavors sometimes too, one scoop of each.Phood is just the greatest drink powder of its type I've ever had. I've been using it for 2 months now and absolutely love it. I used PlantFusion for almost a year before that, but Phood is just more complete nutrition all the way around and I haven't found a single side effect with it.BTW, I'm 68, male, maybe a little overweight, in decent shape, and having a Phood smoothie maybe an hour before I go to the gym lets me work out without feeling stuffed or sluggish like almost any solid meal will. So it's great for that too.I'm sold on it...and I have no connection with the company in any way other than as a customer.

Excellent (with some slight tweaks)
I am doing the HCG protocol with prescription injections and I decided to do the longer round as all liquid for a number of reasons. I needed to find a natural meal replacement that was nutritionally as close as possible to Dr. Simeon's protocol. I am exceptionally picky taste-wise and texture-wise so I scoured a lot of products and reviews before I settled on Phood.I was still skeptical about trying it once I received it and the first time around I made the drink as directed with just water (added some ice too) and blended the heck out of it with my Ninja (probably not necessary but didn't want to risk a texture issue). My reaction after the first drink was 'meh'...it wasn't bad but it wasn't great either, I was picking up a slight earthy under-taste (to be expected since it is plant-based). I then undertook the process of experimenting with how I could make the drink more palatable without destroying the healthful benefits and while still keeping it within the parameters of the HCG protocol. Here's the winning combo for me (thoroughly blended): 2 scoops of Phood, Handful of ice, 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk, 1/2 cup cold water, 1/2 tsp cocoa powder, Pinch of stevia. These additions add negligible calories and preserve the healthful profile of the product while making the drink much more enjoyable (at least to me). The modified version reminds me of how the original low-carb Slimfast used to taste before they started f-ing with the formula.Just some additional notes, I've been drinking Phood "shakes" multiple times per day for 7 days now and I look forward to continuing (I came on to place my next order, thus triggering the review). I have no association with this product and have not been compensated in any way for my review, I just like to give props where due. For fellow HCG'ers, the round has been going very well, losses have been on par with previous standard protocol rounds; however, what works for one person may not work well for another. Lastly, be prepared for possible extra gassiness at times, to be expected with a plant-based product.P.S. For the rating, I would give this product 5 stars for the ingredients and composition, 3.75-4 stars in the taste department when prepared as instructed and 5 stars for taste after tweaking it with the modifications listed above.Hope this helps. Thanks! :)

With great nutrition, comes great flavor (or at least it should!)
I really wanted to like this product. I am lactose intolerant and sensitive to whey protein so typical meal replacement shakes don't work out so well for me even when I take digestive enzymes. When I discovered Phood I got really excited; plant based proteins, all organic, omega-3s, probiotics & digestive enzymes right there in the mix! It sounded awesome... then I tasted it. No bueno! It tastes like chocolate flavored grass clippings. The texture is grainy and thick. I tried blending it with frozen fruit and almond milk, even threw in a little honey to sweeten it up, no go - still gross. Listen, I know this is diet food, I'm not expecting a milkshake, but this stuff triggers my gag reflex. I finally decided that the best way to take it is to mix it in a blender bottle with 12oz of water as directed on the box, plug my nose and chug it as fast as I can.Pros: I gave it 3 stars for it's awesome nutritional value and the fact that it completely fills me up for a good 2.5-3 hours. It makes a great meal replacement shake, snack or post workout protein supplement. For vegetarians or those sensitive to whey like myself, our choices are very limited and I am actually very glad that a product like this exists.Cons: It's just not palatable... I'm willing to pretend it's medicine and take it for the time being, if only because my options are so limited and because this is a great product otherwise, but I do hope that PlantFusion does something to fix the texture/flavor.EDIT: I added a star because it's grown on me over the month or so of use. I probably will reorder as I do feel better taking it than I did when I was using a whey based meal replacement shake previously. Also I learned that this product is sweetened with Stevia, a natural sweetener. While that's good, I taste Stevia as bitter and not sweet, as I found a small portion of the population does, which is probably why I don't like the flavor of Phood all that much.
