It's super effective!
The media could not be loaded. Catch rate:I swear it catches 2-10 a minute depending on time of day in the summer.Design:I like how the bait packet dissolves slowly at first so that when you're activating it you don't have to deal with the pungent smell right off the bat. I took issue with another bait trap just for that. It works swimmingly. 😏 They go in, they forget how to get out, exhaust themselves or fall in the yuck and drown. Also the disgusting water evaporates very slowly. You can have it up for weeks and it's still catches flies. Even when it looks like the water is all gone it still catches flies.Smell:Yes, it stinks. It smells about as bad as Bradford Pear in bloom. I hung these next to our window and that was my bad, but I can't have the window open during these hot months anyways.Effectiveness:With these near the back porch the flies don't want to come inside. We used to have 5-10 in the house a day, but now it's less than 3 if any and I don't think they really want to stay. The flies that do get in are hypnotized by the stink juice and only want to go back outside. Seems to make them easier to kill.

Powerful
I have tried different brands of fly traps, but they were not effective. These fly traps were awesome. They were smelly, but only to the flies, and I hung them far enough away from my guests that they were not grossed out. They were very easy to use and small enough not to be noticeable, but powerful enough to get the job done. They were so good, I almost felt pity for the flies.... almost.I will be purchasing more if available.

Works Great, Just Smelly
These traps are super effective and definitely worth the price. They fill up fast and keep the flies away better than anything else I’ve tried. The only downside is the smell…it’s pretty strong once it gets going. Still, for the cost and how well they work, I’ll keep buying them.

Works so well it’s gross!
Exceptionally efficient. They do smell and it’s gross how many flies they catch but they work amazingly. I’ve had this one up for two weeks and all that liquid at the bottom is full of flies. I haven’t had any trouble with bees or butterflies etc accidentally getting into it. In the heat it’s also way more effective than those drippy sticky ones that melt. My advice is to hang it near the fly area but away from where you’ll catch the smell. The design is such that the flies go in but aren’t able to get back out so anything that flies or crawls in eventually dies in there. If you’re looking to remove flies from an eating area, definitely hang it away from you and hopefully they’ll be drawn away from your eating space and to the bag. The smell is like a dumpster of rotting trash and the flies love it. It’s very easy to fill- snip a circle hole around the line, fill with water to the fill line, hang, wait about a day for it to get smelly, watch it catch the flies!

Amazing fly traps, work quickly and good quality!
1 year update: I've used probably 4-5 of these traps since I bought them last summer and still love them. The bait clearly has a long shelf life because I just put a new one out a few days ago and it's already half full of flies. None of them have leaked. All of them catch THOUSANDS of flies very quickly, significantly reducing the nuisance level in my yard. I stopped bothering to fill them with hot water; just fill them from a hose, hang them up, and let mother nature warm them up. The only annoying thing is that one of them somehow came with the bait bag jammed up between the plastic pieces where the "cap" pulls out to open it. It took a few minutes to get it shoved back down into the bag without damaging the bag itself, but ended up okay. I'll definitely be reordering another pack of these when I run out.1 week update: The one in my front yard is almost FULL of flies. There's been a probably 90% drop in flies buzzing around my workbench when I'm in the garage. There's a dwarf apple tree of some sort next door that's full of rotting fruit so they won't completely go away, but the decrease in numbers has been great! I don't notice the smell unless I'm right next to the bag and there's no sign of leaking yet. Most of the liquid is gone so I'll probably throw it out and put up a new one soon. The one out back was ripped open probably by a raccoon but it still caught enough that my dog and I aren't being swarmed by house flies in the yard again yet! Wish I'd bought these years ago!Original review: Pests of all varieties have been driving me and my dog insane this year; deer flies, fleas, mosquitoes, biting gnats, and house/horse flies. I haven't used this kind of bag trap (even though I know they work) because they're stinky and a pain to dispose of but I'm desperate and SO GLAD I did. I put the first two out about a day and a half ago, one towards the street in the front yard and one hung in a tree out past the fenced-in part of my back yard. They were easy to open (cut a little past the dotted line or the top won't pull out easily), kind of awkward to fill in the shallow sink faucet (I'll use a spigot next time and let the sun warm them up), but they come with a nice hanging wire and it took maybe 2 minutes to set them up. There's no sign of leaking at least in these two.And wow do these things work!!! The one out front has a solid INCH of dead flies in it already. They're buzzing around the top all but fighting each other to squeeze inside and get caught! I haven't gone that close to the one in back, but for the first time all year, I went to pick up my dog's "business" tonight and it wasn't swarmed with flies by the time I walked across the yard! I haven't noticed any smell yet, but I also put them far enough from the house that it shouldn't be a problem. Now, one bit of false advertising is that these will NOT catch deer flies. Maybe the odd one by accident, but deer flies don't hunt by scent. The stinky bait in these will catch regular house and horse flies, probably most of the other varieties listed, but not deer flies. Those little jerks hunt by sight, looking for horizontal motion. They ARE attracted to the color blue, which maybe is why they claim this trap will catch them, but it's not moving and they won't be attracted to the scent of the bait, so they probably won't go inside.I normally use sticky traps for wasps and flies but the Rescue wasp traps have gotten EXPENSIVE the last couple years. The smaller Rescue fly traps aren't quite as expensive, work great, but are full in under a week so those get expensive too. (Yes, FULL, like someone rolled them in a bunch of dead flies!) I tried the really cheap Black Flag brand yellow sticky traps and those were a joke, nothing stuck to them and they fell apart in days. If you don't have that bad of a problem, or don't want to deal with the potential mess and stink of these traps, get the Rescue ones. If you're being driven absolutely batty by flies, get these traps!

Effective but a bit stinky
Follow directions on cutting open the top(watch the video)...it does stink, if you are downwind you will smell it..had them up for 3 weeks, they sure do attract flies and trap them..my bags got over half full and really started to stink, maggots were becoming visible so I wrapped them in a garbage bag, sealed, and tossed into bin..they work great,

Stinky, but they work GREAT!
These work great. I am giving only 3 stars, because they are not easy to dispose of once they are full. I took 2 of them down, closed them up, put them in a plastic bag and tied it up. I put them in my garbage can. Somehow (and I still can't figure out how) they leaked and all the stinky stuff and the maggots poured out into my garbage can. Poor sanitation guys!! I had to pour bleach into the can and soak it overnight and then hose it out. Other than that, they will catch hundreds of flies. They do stink terribly, so they need to be a good distance from wherever you plan to hang out. I will definitely continue to use them. Just need to find out how to get rid of the used ones efficiently.
