Ive tried other online programs for Danish and Pimsleur was far and away the most effective. My overarching goal is to be able to discern actual conversations...not just cram vocabulary. This did the trick. The method behind what seems to be a simple listen&repeat process is surprisingly "effortless". All of a sudden it just starts to stick in your head. The lessons are meant to be just the right length for retention. I was sad to finish the entire 30-lesson series because unfortunately a Danish Level 2 is not available yet. Tusind Tak, Pimsleur.

Great study for Danske

I was hoping this course had some connection to an internet study. It does not, It is just ten CDs you listen to and you attempt to repeat what you hear. There is no instructor interaction. I am continuing with Duolingo.

These are fantastic lessons! I'm using it to connect with my family for a trip that I'm taking to Denmark soon. I have used other Pimsleur courses before and will again. Really allows you to develop proper pronunciation, which is important in Danish because of the very different sounds. (From an English speakers prospective) It is VERY hard to come by good learning material for Danish in the USA...with Denmark being a small country, and with probably not a very high demand for it. But believe me, I have tried every Danish course out there. This one has hands down gotten me the farthest! You will not get more bang for your buck with any other program. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed! I can't wait for Danish 2 to come out, I'm really excited to keep my learning going!

I just listened to Lesson 1. I know how to say "I speak a little Danish," But that's a lie. I don't know yet how to say hello or good day, please or thank you. Why do I need to learn to say "I don't understand English," if I speak English? I also don't care for the fact that there is no visual to accompany the pronunciation. I wish I could return this, but I threw away the box. By the time I get to Denmark, I will still be a rude American who can't greet anyone politely or say thank you.

Very easy to follow and learn - looking for the next edition now!

The lessons are easy to follow and makes learning very enjoyable.

Not good. A very limited range of vocabulary and does not cover what I would say are the basics for travel, e.g. food, shopping, transport, accommodation. Also too fast for beginners to get the correct pronunciation.

I bought this for my girlfriend in Japan and it's a great addition to learning Danish.
