I would definitely recommend this particular hat for both the price and quality! Got this hat to wear for Halloween DYI costume, as a "helicopter-mom" to humor my freshman college daughter's embarrassment! It IS thinner fabric, but that's WHY I LIKED it! THIS hat also has an ADJUSTABLE BACK! I have a smaller head so most adult size baseball hats come down too far & push on my ears! This did not push on my ears! It was perfect for my size head. Plus it fit other party guests (with average sized heads) with no problem. (I also was not looking for a long term wearing, everyday hat!) It IS a novelty hat! Perfectly priced! The spiner on top was balanced perfectly & spun around nicely without any problems! It's a fun hat that can be enjoyed for multiple purposes now that I have it! Fun for family game nights, my grandsons love to put it on for play time!
