Inspiring Cookbook for Active Lifestyles
As someone who loves running and exploring plant-based recipes, The No Meat Athlete Cookbook has been a game changer. The recipes are creative, full of flavor, and use whole food ingredients that are easy to find. I’ve especially enjoyed the "Superfood Smoothies" section for quick pre-run fuel and the hearty dinner ideas for recovery meals. The instructions are clear, and the tips for meal prepping are super helpful for busy weeks. While I’m not a strict vegan, this book has made incorporating more plant-based meals into my routine simple and enjoyable.

Simple & Approachable, yet Innovative & YUMMY!
Love This Book! I am a vegan athlete of 7 years and the owner of countless cookbooks, and I have to say, this book is one of my favorites! What I appreciate so much about Matt Frazier’s approach to veganism is his broad appeal, making vegan recipes accessible to newbies, simple for busy athletes, and interesting enough to keep long time vegans from falling into a food rut. Sometimes I feel like it’s all been done before in the vegan recipe world…smoothies, overnight oats, salads…blah, blah, blah. This book still manages to innovate, and especially shines with loads of savory breakfast recipes, flexible recipe 'blueprints', DIY sports drinks and protein mixes, go-to sauces, international influences, and easy, satisfying desserts. This book also stands out for practical tips on implementing recipes into our daily lives with tips like the ‘Double-Up Method’ of meal prep. I've actually cooked successfully from this book, unlike many cookbooks that sit on my shelf gathering dust because they are just too complicated or overwhelming. The recipes are diverse, so you will find small amounts of oil, sugar, and gluten. However, the recipes are also easily adaptable, with tips on substitutions to make recipes conform to individual dietary preferences.

Definitely worth reading!
Okay, there are a few recipes in here that you ordinarily might not consider unless you ARE an athlete seeking to improve performance or someone seeking to improve health. But I really like it -- It's a good, solid vegan cookbook with many good ideas and tips, ideally used as a companion to the book The No-Meat Athlete (NMA), another book which I also really like. The only real suggestion I have is that I miss the macros of the No-Meat Athlete. I realize the macros are a substantial undertaking and that many vegan cookbooks (as well as regular cookbooks) don't use them. I found them to complement and supplement the message of your books quite well. CAN an active person attain a certain percentage protein goal on a vegan diet? Well, according to the nutritional values listed for each recipe in NMA, you absolutely CAN. You just need to pay attention. Some recipes in NMA actually contain more protein than I'd estimated, and I'm sure the same is true for the cookbook. The numbers DO absolutely support your message, which as far as I can see is a win-win!

Great Recipes
I really liked the way this book was put together and immediately found several recipes that I can't wait to try. I have a lot cookbooks, but since health problems made a plant-based diet advisable, I'm starting to collect books that offer main courses and filling side dishes without meat or too much fat. It's been a couple years now on the new food strategy, but I'm coming to be quite satisfied and happy with my meatless options. I always loved mexican food and tacos work great. I never used to eat smoothies, but now see these are a marvelous and delicious daily addition. I'm very pleased with this book, the amount of images, the recipes and quality of the printing.

BEST COOKBOOK EVER!
Wow, I pre-ordered this book and I was excited, but as I started reading it, I realized this is the best cookbook ever for anyone trying to eat healthy, nutrient-dense, and delicious foods. My husband and I have literally been eating only recipes out of this cookbook since we received it in late May. Matt and Stepfanie offer some blueprint recipes that allow you to use any foods you have on hand, which work great even if you're not that experienced at cooking. Also, the sauces and dressings really allow you to make boring dishes super tasty. I love their oil free options and all of the nutrition and vegan kitchen facts will help anyone succeed at a more Whole Foods, plant-based diet. I recommend this cookbook to everyone, even meat & dairy eaters--you'd be surprised how good bean balls and spaghetti and vegan fudge can actually be! No Meat Athlete podcast and blog helped me evolve from a vegetarian to a vegan and now a whole foods plant-based eater. This cookbook seals the deal, and I'll never go back to basing my diet on anything else except for whole plant foods!

Don’t buy if you care about macros
There are no calorie or protein counts in this book, so if you’re trying to hit a protein goal or lose weight this isn’t for you. I thought a book with athlete in the title would have macros but I guess not

Great for people exploring a Vegan diet
My brother decided to change his diet to become a vegan. While he was an avid cooker, he found it difficult to find recipes that helped him sustain enough energy to exercise. This book helped him find a way in the kitchen.
