I have been dealing with KP on my upper arms (and legs but my arms are the worst) for years. I went to a dermatologist as I was so embarrassed and she recommended I try the Cerave for Rough and Bumpy skin which I did with minimal improvement. I'd scrub and exfoliate in the shower, I would apply AHA and BHA serums, I tried a moisturizer with retinol, when I tell you I tried many moisturizers. All these things helped but only a little. Spring and summer are now right around the corner and I was desperate for my arms to look better so I could confidently wear shorter sleeves. I went to AI for recommendations and it recommended this brand as #1. I rushed here to buy it and it shipped quickly. The bottle was a bit smaller than expected for the price (they list the oz, my fault for not paying attention), but upon applying you really dont need much. Its best to apply right out of the shower but sometimes I forget and apply later. It does have a thick consistency so applying after showering does help it smooth on a bit better. It doesnt have any smell, and I didnt experience any skin sensitivity, aside from a small amount of tingling after I apply it. It also is a very moisturizing cream. What I'm the most impressed with was how quickly this worked! I wish I had taken a "before" photo because it literally made a massive difference after one single use. I paid more for my dermatologist visit and the cerave than this product, I wish I had found it sooner. After only 2 days of use, I could wear shorter sleeves without feeling so embarrassed. If you are struggling with KP, I highly recommend this cream.

My son had bumps on his elbows that had been worsening over time. After googling the images, we discovered it was keratosis pilaris. AmLactin came highly recommended. After reading reviews and checking before and after photos, I decided on this product. It took only a few days to notice a difference and about 10 days for the majority of the bumps to go away completely. It is a bit pricy compared to others, but it was worth it. The product is thick and creamy, but does not leave a greasy residue. My son was happy with this product.

I really wanted to love this product. Unfortunately it didn't work for me to get rid of my KP bumps. It will moisturize your skin. It does have a chemically smell to it. Its a think lotion also and made my arms feel kinda greasy.

So this is the second bottle I've bought from this brand. The first worked so well but had a terrible syrupy smell and was in a different bottle. The new bottle has zero smell to it and I'm so happy about that. I use this on my 4 year old son's arms as he gets those KP bumps just like me. If you apply twice a day the bumps really disappear. I hope this new bottle with no smell will work the same as the last one.

EDIT: 3/29/24 - I gave up! I stopped using this about 2 weeks ago. I used this very consistently for about 9 weeks with absolutely no difference in the redness on my arms, which was my biggest reason for trying this. I gave up. I still have a decent amount of product left in the bottle, so if it works for you, it should last a while. I've come to the conclusion that lactic acid based products do not work for me. I've since started using retinol cream and Selsun Blue on my arms (google it). ~ I've had KP for about 10 years. It's been bad the past 7 or so years. They say it goes away in your late 20s/early 30s, but I'll be 34 this year and it's just getting worse. I've tried SO many things and decided to give this a try bc its affordable. First off, it is TTTTHICK and does indeed smell like maple syrup. The smell isn't off-putting to me, and it does go away, but that is the initial scent. Much better than some of the other KP lotions I've tried so smelling like pancakes for 15 mins is no biggie. My worst KP is on my arms (bumpy and VERY red). The redness is the worst part for me. For years, I've put makeup on my arms before big events and I've tried to cover my arms when possible bc its embarrassing and I'm very self-conscious about it. I've been using this for 2 weeks. My skin is noticeably softer, less bumps but the redness hasn't changed at all. I do use exfoliating gloves in the shower and I put this on my arms immediately after showering (on damp skin for better absorption). I've always exfoliated using other brand lotions as well and got similar results. Again, the redness is my biggest issue and so far, in 2 weeks, no change yet. I'm very consistent, using twice per day, everyday. I'll update this if the redness changes. Overall, if bumps are your main problem, give this a try. Its more affordable than other brands and with exfoliating, you will see less bumps quickly.

Wow. I've been meaning to make an appointment with my dermatologist for these unappealing bumps on my arms that appeared some time last year. When I finally called, I was told there's a 3 month wait to be seen. So I googled the issue and came across KP and this lotion as a potential solution. Well after using it for less than a week, there's a a HUGE difference in the bumps! They've essentially disappeared. It's probably the thickest lotion I've ever used. Some may find that to be problematic but I just put it on when I'm sure I can stay in one spot until it absorbs into my skin. It takes 10-15 minutes and I consider it a crucial part of self care. I definitely recommend it.

Worked great on my keratosis Polaris on my legs & arms. Nice & thick & soothing & helps with applying over bumps on skin. Worth buying cause price is right for this brand!

I've used so many products to reduce their appearance of KP on my arms now that I'm in my 40s it's increasingly red and noticeable and has actively stopped me from wearing short sleeves and exposing my arms and that's making me really self-conscious. I started using this product and within a matter of days I noticed a significant difference a week in and the redness is much softer and the overall appearance of my KP is reduced. I'm hopeful that within more time and consistent use this will give me my confidence back.
