The description says 18" while the video says 24"** A: With the "extender leg" attached I am able to open the compass to a diameter of 11.5". I don't see how you could expand it to 18" or 24". **Q: Can you use this with other drawing utensils like markers?** A: Yes you can use markers and pens and pencils. Built in there is a lead, but there's an attachment that lets you use any kind of writing pen/marker/pencil that is up to 1/2 in diameter. **Q: What is the diameter of the lead? I need more than the standard black lead. Most compass's are 2mm>** A: This is also 2mm. Make one, there's plenty of cool compass plans available online.
