I have been dealing with cold sores for 12 years. I have tried almost everything. At first sign of a cold sore I would ice ice ice for as long as I could the entire day. It worked great with prescription meds. However this last time I didn’t have the time or access to ice for 8 hours. I used this product (along with prescription) and it stopped it dead in its tracks. I applied for about 20 seconds 3 times a day and my cold sore never developed. It went to the healing stage instantly and you could basically never see it. Best product I’ve found yet. Order these now and keep multiple packs on hand as they only come in 6. I used 6 total per outbreak. I just ordered 2 more packs to have. I was nervous to use them because I read reviews about chemical burns and making things worse. I would assume that person held it on for an extended period of time which is not necessary. Dab it on first and let it numb (you’ll feel it) and then press firmly multiple times in about 5 second increments. Repeat 3-5 times and throw away. You will be pleased with the results.

I can only find this on Amazon. None of my drug stores or Walmart carry this product. Not sure why. It really works! Uncomfortable to apply but it definitely dries up the blisters. Sometimes it takes a couple applications. The outcome isn’t pretty but it’s better than a massive blistered cold sore on your mouth.

Im a big skeptic of Abreva (docusanol) because it has you applying it like every 2 hours for maybe a 1 day faster healing time. Like, I used Lysine+ (a lip ointment type treatment from Quantum Health) in a similar manner with the same results. And Lysine+ is way cheaper than Abreva. So, I pored over the reviews for this product before getting it. I ended up trying it out, and this is another cold sore product I will always always always keep in my house. (The other is compeed cold sore patches). This stuff stops my cold sores in its tracks. If I catch the cold sore early enough, just one application is sufficient. Once I gave the cold sore too much time to bake and it was on like day 3 or 4, so I applied it once for 2 days in a row. Worked like a charm. Its not magic though, the cold sore still has to do its nasty business and heal, but personally, the cold sore doesnt get more than like 5% worse before heading straight to healing. If you know your cold sore cycles, I think you'll know what I mean.

I only get cold sores once every few years or so, and I used to get really stressed about them because I’m still not really used to it. This time, I managed not to let myself get too worked up and stressed out over it (as that only worsens my symptoms) and purchased this along with some Lysine +. Todays Saturday and mine showed up Monday night, I only started taking this about two nights ago and it helped out tons with the swelling and pain. I like the numbing sensation it provides, because it does sting a little at first. But now my cold sore is virtually gone, just healing from the scabbing. definitely the smoothest process of healing for me thus far and I will be getting more to have on me just in case.

I keep this on hand for cold sore breakouts. It claims to just relieve pain, but really it clears them up much faster.
