How many uses can you get from a single pair (for sleeping)?

I used them for mowing the lawn. And I used them over and over. They are the very best that I have ever used......and they work!!

Yep, I replace mine once a month or so and are the best in-ear solution for snoring that I've come across.

When cottony covering is removed, a thin layer of cotton remains. Does that have to be picked off, or can ear plug still seal into ear?

A bit of cotton in your ear will not hurt you. I love these ear plugs because they block the noise so well. As you use one, the cotton will fall off in the process, anyway. It kinda reminds me of bubble gum.
