Is this normal?** A: I just looked at mine and there is a slight bulge just right of center on the front - hadn't noticed it. Doesn't seem dented or anything - maybe just a little bulge to accommodate the cooling compressor. FYI - I have made almost 50 quarts of ice cream with no problems what-so-ever. You only need to put in about 3 cups of mix as the volume expands as it mixes and freezes. It will NOT freeze solid. When it gets stiff and barely turns, you need to shut it off - scrape the dasher and bannister into another container - I use quart size cardboard containers - and put in your freezer to finish the freezing process. **Q: Does it have a cooling compressor so I dont have to freeze the container?** A: The unit contains a compressor that freezes the mixture and does not require to freeze the bowl prior to use.
