Fun family night!
My older boys and I had a blast playing this! We have tried other ones and this by far is the best story line!

Addictive, Well-Designed, and So Much Fun
THE BEST DATE NIGHT GAME!!!! Hunt A Killer: Murder at the Motel is such an immersive and well-thought-out game. From the moment you open the box, the storyline pulls you in. The clues feel realistic, the evidence is detailed, and everything works together in a way that makes you feel like a real detective. It’s challenging without being frustrating, and solving each part feels genuinely rewarding. This was perfect for a game night—great for couples, friends, or even playing solo if you love true crime and puzzles. We ended up talking through theories and debating suspects, which made it even more fun. The quality of the materials is excellent, and the pacing keeps you engaged the entire time. If you enjoy mystery, escape rooms, or crime-solving games, this is a must-have. Easily one of the best at-home mystery games we’ve played. I had to buy every one of them. Highly recommend!

Fun
Love these! They are fun to play, draw in family and friends with a fun game! The more minds that come together the more fun it seems! Not overly difficult, but challenge enough to keep it worth the play!

Fun. But lack of clues!
We have played from Hunt a Killer before and dis the subscription, but once we played we wanted thw next box like that day! So bought this game thinking ok everything is in it, and when it came down to who the killer was we were upset because none of the clues lead us down that road! With the subscription you can go online submit who you rule out and then the game keeps going! Again was fun bit when we opened the spoiler envelope my husband and I went back through the clues and was like how do you come to that conclusion?! But again was a fun Journy😊

For true crime family's
I didn't know much about these games other than the concept seemed fun. Just understand that there is no real guidance on what you're supposed to read first. We spread all the evidence out on the kitchen table and each had a piece of paper to take notes. It took around 2 hours to complete and ended up being a really fun time. It absolutely helps if you do fun voices when reading the witness statements. Haha. Highly recommend. I bought another for us to try for the next family get together.

Well done, tight game, no surprises — just intriguing!
Very good game. The clues were fun, you had to be very thorough. Get paper and pencil and take good notes!

Outstanding detective fun and high quality props and clues.
Unbelievable fun. Brilliantly entertaining and really cleverly made. Also, beware of pickles.

An addition to HAK’s one time boxes line
There are always mixed reviews about HAK’s one-off boxes. The thing is these are escape-room style murder mysteries so a certain level of being convoluted is to be expected… I mean escape room + murder mystery, it can’t be cakewalk! (This box is rated 4 stars out of 5 for difficulty). The thing is I have seen some really poor reviews about this set but someone who’s done Death at the Dive Bar, and Mystery at Magnolia Gardens, I’d still give it a try. At least the components do look cool

Not the best, but a decent challenge.
A weaker entry in the series. The lock box puzzle was a good one and it's a nice challenge piecing the timeline together. Forbthe added difficulty of this one, the payoff is fairly weak though and not very satisfying. Plus tla couple of the reveals don't quite work with the materials provided (trying to avoid spoilers). Unless you can pick this up at a serious discount, I'd skip it.
