desertcart.com: Goblin Slayer, Vol. 2 (light novel) (Volume 2): 9780316553223: Kagyu, Kumo, Steinbach, Kevin, Kannatuki, Noboru: Books Review: Expands the Characters and a Long Dungeon Delve - This book was a great expansion on the first one and really helped bring the group dynamic together. It's fun to see how the characters are growing and the addition of the next character who has become pretty popular in the goblin Slayer community, Sword Maiden. As for recommendations I would still say to keep this one PG-13 for anyone interested. Nothing too overly graphic in terms of adult situations. There is an allusion to how a special spell is cast but nothing overly descriptive. There are still lots of combat and depictions of gore. All in all another great read and I can't wait to get the third volume. Review: The adventure Continues - Loved the 1st Volume? Will not be disappointed with the sequel that is Vol. 2. The interactions with the characters, the views on who Goblin Slayer is, what he means, and how much impact he has on people becomes noticeably mindblowing as you, the reader, become enthralled with this light novel. My only regret is at the speed i read this novel that leaves me with a satisfying smile for a story that I cannot wait to buy the Manga (Even if it might make my wallet weep). To the author, my thanks for the smiles, the horrors, the thrills, and triumph that shows how much work you have placed in this series. Please don't stop and keep it going!

An interesting read
This volume of Goblin Slayer has our heroes slaying Goblins! Predictable and utterly enjoyable, I also loved the changing perspective of Goblin Slayer as he goes from being a lone wolf, to the defacto leader of his own group of Adventurers. I enjoyed reading the glimpses into the much larger universe and how they tie to Goblin Slayer and friends. Looking forward to reading volume 3.

Good sequel.
A good sequel on this series. I liked the story and the way it was written. The only thing I found was that it repeats a lot of info through the book. Good story and good characters, recommended.

5/5 Dead Goblins. Would Goblins Again.
Goblins again. Goblins next time, as well. Goblins. Goblins. More Goblins. It's as brilliant as the first novel, and just as entertaining. People will try to change our Goblin Slayer, but even so - his priorities remain the same and his Goblin-slaying remains a constant work of art. Recommendable to anyone who enjoyed the first novel and knows what they're getting into - some of the art is a little risque, and some of the story's plot seems to incorporate this, alongside bloody, massacred Goblins and other strange creatures, but if you haven't seen the first novel - I can't say going straight to the second is wise. I look forward to the third's release. A-Goblin-Slaying we must go!~ Ah, and to a certain extent; the amount of maidens falling into our Slayer's neglected harem continues to grow. Be warned - he's denser than even the most dedicated dwarves.

Excellent continuation from the first
If you enjoyed the first book, you'll love this one - which focuses on longer style quests, rather than the short excursions seen in the first novel. Another refreshing, entertaining TTRPG-style narrative packed with interesting, unique companions, thoughtful world building, and perhaps the seeds of a deeper narrative arc for future novels to grow on. If the first book was an introduction to the world and characters, this was the first major quest in their campaign.

Goblin Slayer. The name says it all!
The fight scene in the “mirror” room under the water city is more than enough for a lifetime of adventures, let alone enough for a single battle. It’s a shame that the author didn’t use the word “Beholder” to describe the “eyed” beast, but that might have been an infringement on the D&D franchise, though I think I remember it being used in the Forgotten Realms fantasy books that I read years ago. Anyway, another epic GS books comes to an end w/o any main characters dying, so onward to the next book!

Once again a complete joy to read
Once again Goblin slayer manages to enthralled, with a much bigger journey than the first that keeps you on your toes throughout also sprinkled with some character growth for goblin slayer. I can't recommend enough for those who are into dark fantasy and of course Goblin slaying.

Since it's the light novel instead of the manga and anime alot of the general tone feels different because it's described differently. But I love it any way.

Another volume, another opportunity to get enchanted by Goblin Slayer's professional work. An excellent read for those, who already tasted the first volume. You just can't feel but root for Goblin Slayer and his way of incorporating the little wisdoms and tricks he had heard into the traps and tactics against goblins. The first volume already did this but the second volume goes beyond that and fleshes out his wits and guts in order to get his whole party out of the adventure alive. The day that Goblin Slayer has earned his humanity back and returned his insane mind to the green moon is the same day that goblinhood itself bids farewell to the living. Be sure to get the third volume for even crazier stunts and tricks of our beloved Goblin Slayer. Great respect to Kevin Steinbach's marvelous localization and translation.

Another pearl of fantasy, based on RPGs like D&D. This book is pure joy, at least for those who understand a little bit of the genre
