My 8 year old is wanting to grow her hair long and thus far, succeeding. But in effort to help in this endeavor, definitely need to eliminate chemicals. I found this. Smells amazing. I didnt realize a palmade is also used for women’s hair as well. I don’t write many reviews but this one needed to be done. Yes it does what it is suppose to but i needed to mention a couple of things. I can definitely see how this is going to help with breakage. I rubbed some on the ends of her hair and to my surprise it left her hair so shiny and soft. Her hair is hard to put a wave in, not now.☺️ my hair is brittle so of course now im using it. Puts the shine right back in. Did i mention how nice it smells? Im buying their detangler next!

I love the burnt sugar scent of this pomade and all of the emollients and natural ingredients gives it 10 out 10 for me . Keeps my hair moisturized and soft.

This product is so good!!!! It's 100% curly girl friendly, and I love the consistency. If you look in the ingredients it's all natural oils and butters. So it's a sealer. It's the consistency of hair grease which I absolutely hate grease. However it seals the hair a lot better then just using a oil or even multiple oils at that. I have mixed triplet girls. 2 of them are identical and the third one is fraternal. The one that's fraternal has a very different hair texture then her sisters. Her hair is a lot more course, thick, and it's VERY low porosity. It's harder to keep her hair moisturized. This product does the deal. I'm very picky about what I put in their hair. This will remain a keeper. It's nice to use when braiding bc it lays down the fly aways while also sealing. When braiding i follow it up w a 100% curly girl friendly braid setting mouse I found that's the holy grail of mooses (in my personal opinion). It's called braid setting Mousse and it's by Mut Dynasty. If you have not tried these 2 products for braids you should definitely try it.

Love the smell, love the effectiveness at sealing in moisture- around 3 days. It is not too greasy but I actually do not mind grease as I do use that to seal as well as my hair is thick. I wish businesses would focus on what a product HAS and not what it does not have. The fear mongering with petrolatum is uncalled for. This might be too much for finer hair types so I would use really sparingly. That said, I think there are other products that can do the same job at a better price. But it's always a good idea to support small businesses so if you are in the market for a hair grease that does not have petrolatum (nothing wrong with that btw), this does what it says.

I used to buy this product from Oyin when they were only online, then Target, and had found myself missing it so I looked and found they could be purchased on Amazon. Yay! Anyway, it's just like it's always been and it smells delightful. I did my hair with it on Sunday and found that people are remarking on how good my office smells just like they used to! I'm so glad to be reunited and my hair is looking great. It provides such great shine and softness and doesn't leave my hair dry after a few days as so many products like this can do. And again- it smells GOOOD!

I've been using this for about three months now. Along with the rest of my routine (unremarkably standard washing and conditioning), its had a great effect on keeping my unrulier curls tamed. Works best for me while my hair is still damp after a shower, but in a pinch I've used it dry. I'm a bit put off by the smell of caramel, but I'd be just as put-off if it were some other hair product smell. Will buy again.

I'm a fan of Oyin Handmade hair products and I really like the Burnt Sugar pomade. It has a warm, toasty sugary scent that may be a little strong for some but I like it. I use the LCO method and use this to seal my hair after I apply the hair dew (I do a lot of twist and twist outs). I like how this pomade is absorbed by my hair and isn't sticky. The burnt sugar pomade is made up of various oils and butters, so keep in mind that a little bit goes a long way. I apply a dime sized amount to each section and then add more as needed. I have 3c/4a hair but I honestly believe using this product with LCO/LOC will benefit other Type 4 hair. I had the 4 oz jar and it lasted me a month and a half.

Love the smell, first of all. This smells like a delicious vanilla sugar candle. On the other hand, everything I have learned about fragrances and the associated chemicals is not so good for your long-term health, but if this does not touch your roots or scalp, that should not be a problem. This was such a thick, waxy texture and consistency, I had a hard time seeing the humectant effect. I prefer humectants that are more like a soft, slightly melted petroleum jelly consistency and texture. I am glad I tried it though, used the whole container, and every time my partner loved how my hair smelled.
