The Witcher: Ronin (Manga)

Using manga format for this is a very interesting approach to comic books presentation. But then again I may be biased since I really like this series.

Love this alternate story in the Witcher Universe, it's amazing!

Anything The Witcher is great. I love ronin stories and this fits very well

Solid first entry. Looking forward to the next volume. Really nice spin on classic witcher characters along with thoughtful incorporation of Japanese folklore. The Beastiary in the back is a particular highlight for me as it gives historical info on the monsters in the story and shares how they were altered to incorporate into the story.

Looking forward to more.

A great set of stories that feels authentic and on par with the Witcher character from the book series. Loved the art and story. Because this is a genuine Manga, the story is read left to right. Lol I learned the hard way

I really dig the art style, it's a pretty interesting story and I can't wait for the 2nd volume!

This manga far exceeded my expectations. I was reluctant to get it at first, because I wasn’t sure if the world of the Witcher - or the characterization of Geralt - would translate very well into this style. I was mistaken. The art is very beautiful and clean. It’s stunning how the atmosphere and mood of the scenes are captured with such a limited color palette. And Geralt is still Geralt, albeit in the world of Japanese folklore monsters. He doesn’t just battle these monsters like a senseless brute, either. There is a very clever story that propels him from one scene to the next. I sincerely hope that there is going to be a second part to this! I will purchase it without hesitation.

Primo volume di una nuova serie di avventure del mitico Witcher, ambientato nei paesaggi e cultura orientale. La qualità della stampa e della carta è molto buona, lo stile dei disegni è molto particolare e in generale l'ambientazione riesce nell'intento di proporre uno stile tutto nuovo del Witcher. Geralt armato stavolta di due katane (una d'argento e una d'acciaio ovviamente) viaggerà alla ricerca di ciri affrontando mostri della mitologia giapponese. Non mancano i temi più famosi interessanti del mondo di the Witcher come mostri di diversa natura e forma, da quelli bestiali a quelli più scaltri e inquietanti; oppure le complicate scelte morali che si presentano di volta in volta al protagonista. Invece le scene dei combattimenti non brillano e i dialoghi sono alle volte sbrigativi. La trama principale della ricerca di Ciri può risultare ripetitiva, ma sicuramente c'è spazio per migliorare nei prossimi capitoli. In generale penso che questo nuovo arco narrativo trasportato in oriente sia riuscito molto bene a livello di design.

Picture and book quality are top tier. Highly recommend checking it out if you're a true witcher fan!
