Let's be honest, it's hard to get excited about screws. But it's very easy to get frustrated by bad ones. I bought this box of 200 for a weekend project – putting together some raised beds for the garden using old scaffold boards – and I can say they're genuinely good. The main thing you want to know is if they snap or if the heads round off the second you look at them, right? Well I drove about 100 of these into some pretty solid timber with my impact driver and didn't have a single one shear off or cam out. The cross-head (it's a Pozi drive) is deep enough that the bit gets a proper grip, which is half the battle. They bite into the wood nicely and drive in smoothly without much fuss. For 70mm screws going into thick wood, drilling a little pilot hole first is always a good idea, but these seemed to manage just fine either way. For the price – under a fiver for 200 – you really can't complain. It's miles cheaper than grabbing a handful of small, expensive packs from B&Q. Long story short, they’re strong, reliable, and great value. A perfect, no-nonsense box of screws to have in the shed for any decent-sized DIY job. I'd buy them again without hesitation.
