Still trying
After a month of taking it, I don’t really feel any difference.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT
I just received this product and was very disappointed to see that it expires in December 2025 , only a couple of months from now. The listing never mentioned that the expiry date was this close, and I expected a fresh batch since it’s a health supplement.

I've struggled with anxiety & IBS-D for years, and I think I've tried everything under the sun to manage both - antidepressants, sedatives, St. John's Wort, meditation, CBT, light therapy, eliminating caffeine - the list goes on & on. I've been taking this product - 300 mg twice a day - and my anxiety has all but disappeared, along with the IBS, for the most part. I honestly couldn't remember how what it was like to live without a knot in my stomach *all the time* - and here I am, relaxed and living life like a relatively normal person. I have no side effects but for a bit of an unsettled stomach for a couple of hours after I take it - not so bad that I can't live with it, and the trade-off is well worth it. Truly a game changer for me. Update, 6/23/23: if you'd be relying on this to take daily and consistently to stay on top of anxiety, you may want to keep looking. It's a quality product, but it's clear that the manufacturer has supply/production issues. I have a subscription, and my scheduled monthly deliveries are always "delayed" and "temporarily unavailable" which means I run out, and go for periods of time without. Kind of negates the whole point of having a subscription. Disappointing, and I've removed a couple of stars for that - the product can be fantastic, but if you can't actually access it, then it's not so fantastic at all. Update, 11/11/23: they seem to have worked out their supply issues - I'm getting my subscription delivery regularly now. I added back one star to my review for that. I'll add the 5th back in a few months, if this consistent delivery becomes the norm again. Update 1/13/25: Product still working well for me, and I get my subscription regularly, on time. Adding back the star I removed for delivery issues. Really excellent product!

I will continue to edit this review as time goes on. General background: I bought this because I saw on google scholar that this herb was shown effective at bettering thyroid function. I recently got a blood test saying my thyroid was slightly underactive and I wanted a non drug alternative because I am really not ok with committing to a life of yo-yoing on synthetic drugs that have bad long term effects and may only cause more problems. I had a very very very strong hunch my thyroid issue was caused by about 2 years of constant stress due to trauma. I also read that stress hormones are extremely related to the thyroid function and chronic stress can cause thyroid issues. So hearing about ashwagandha and all it’s benefits, naturally I had to give this a try. Ok now for the effects: Day 3 (9/7/19): I’ve noticed a very apparent 80% decrease in what I call “stress chest” (for lack of better term) which is the physical feeling of stress i’ve been dealing with for the past two years. 80-90% muted. I say muted because I can tell when I get emotionally triggered by something or experience something that would normally induce a spike in my “stress chest”, there is a mild feeling but it is 80-90% lesser than what it was before. I’m absolutely amazed. And i’m only taking 1/2 the swerving suggestion so far. I plan to up to the full suggestion next week. So I can say without a doubt this has helped my stress and I feel generally much calmer and my body isn’t reacting to stressful situations nearly as much- like I said 80%- a HUGE difference for me. If you don’t have intense stress you may not notice an affect this drastic because their simply isn’t as much stress to decrease in the first place but if you have an severe case like mine you WILL notice it’s absence. Now as far as my thyroid goes I will be taking another blood test in 3 months so until then I won’t know for sure but I have a strong feeling I will be healed by then for sure. I will update for that here of course. And I will update in between now and then for whatever I feel the need to update. Crossing my fingers! Day 27 (10/1/19): forgot to update back when i tried upping to the full dose (one capsule in the morning and one in the evening) which was about 7 days in, and i experienced some gastrointestinal issues so i just continued to only take a half dose which is one capsule in the morning. Which honestly seems fine for me! It’s still working at reducing my stress about 75-80%. So there doesn’t seem to be an issue with developing a tolerance. One thing I might mention is that as you get used to this new normal you may forget how it felt to feel as stressed as you were before. When I do feel stress I have to remember to compare it to how it was before and I realize “oh this is nothing compared to that- AND I can actually relieve my stress with exercise or deep breathing and it’s actually WORKS now- whereas before I would exercise and deep breathe and it still wouldn’t help me- so my body is able to actually work and cope with the stress now.” So just keep that in mind! It’s amazing how now I actually can just go for a quick walk or take a moment for deep breathing and it actually provides lasting relief now. Before the stress would just pump and pump and it would get a tiny bit better DURING exercise but it would come back the second I would stop. But now the exercise is enough to stop my stress and that affect will actually last. Still need to wait till December for my blood test but so far so good. I’m also taking selenium in the form of one brazil nut a day and iodine in the form of a kelp supplement, but only because I heard those vitamins help thyroid as well. Welp, I’ll update again later.

So I ventured into Ashwagandha at first with the intent of trying a natural solution to improve my mood. It definitely does that, and is helpful. My first time trying it I remember I felt nothing for the first couple days, doing a single capsule when I woke up. I thought this stuff may have been snake oil or something, but after a few days I noticed myself feeling a bit more energetic and also, oddly, getting a bit angry? I knew it could boost testosterone, but I didn't expect it to do all that much. Now, the "anger" thing could have been coincidence, but it sure didn't feel like it. I then noticed my sex drive going up. I was finding myself more aroused more often, and it actually made my semen a bit more white and thick I noticed, lol. I had a friend try it out and he concurred, but it also seemingly made him a bit more prone to anger as well. This could have been placebo, but I wouldn't doubt if it has something to do with the testosterone boost. After using it a while, it evened out and I noticed mostly more subtle sexual benefits and some moderate mood increases. It's easy to "forget" that it's doing anything, but I did take a break from it for a few months and noticed myself getting a bit more depressed, so I bought another bottle and started up again and noticed some improvements after a few days. Like I said in the title, you do begin to build a bit of tolerance. I started taking 2 capsules (recommended serving size) and it helped, but I have gone back to just one capsule a day for a subtle boost and to save a few bucks. Overall, I'd say it's worth a shot if you are wanting a moderate increase in sex drive, some light testosterone boost, or a mild natural anti-depressant/mood booster. It's worth a shot, although a tad bit pricey. For that I set give it 4 stars. If it were a bit cheaper I would give it 5 stars.
