pBone pTrumpet - The Plastic Trumpet, Purple (PTRUMPET1P)

Great sound with my brass mouthpiece. Plastic mouthpieces are not so good. Not as bright sounding as a brass trumpet, but I like it. Almost "flugalhornish". Ptrumpet it very responsive. Surprised at how well it plays compared to my Yamaha professional trumpet. Intonation is surprisingly good considering the price. Need to pull the 1st and 3rd slides out a bit to play in tune. The valve action is not very good. You won't be playing flight of the bumblebee on this horn. Valves are just barely passable. I hope they break in after a while, because otherwise I like everything else about the ptrumpet. 2 stars for the valves, but 5 stars for the sound and being easy to play. I'll overlook the valves for now and hope they break in over time. I knew this would be a gamble but am glad I made the purchase.

My husband got this for me as a Christmas gift, and I was delighted! I keep this out of the case on a stand and I like how it looks and that I don't have to worry about the kids dinging it (as I would for one of my professional trumpets). I can have it handy for practicing when I am in that part of the house. Nice for long tones and exercises- especially in the mid/upper ranges. The sound on this for me is warmer than on my other trumpets, a nice change. Came with a nice case and 3C and 5C mouth pieces. The lower range is a little tricky for me on this, but perhaps if I improve the low range on this trumpet, it will translate to better performance on my other trumpets. The valves seems slightly further apart on this, but it is still very comfortable to hold.

So, I'll start with what is actually good about the product. It actually has really decent sound. It's a little "hollow" sounding, but considering plastic doesn't resonate like metal, it's understandable. Tone gets better with proper breath support, so that is actually a plus side for a beginner. Teaches them the importance of breath support. It is also light weight, which is good for marching and lugging it home from school. Now for the bad part. Take this with a grain of salt because of the price point vs what you get. The first and third tuning slides only have about a quarter of an inch of slide space for fine tuning. That's only good for tuning notes at D2 and higher (D on the 4th ledger line.) It always better to tune slightly flat because you can adjust breath support or embechour to tune up when playing. Like I said, take this with a grain of salt because it's an 80 dollar plastic trumpet. We're not wailing on a $2000 pro trumpet. The reason why I gave it one star is because the freaking spit valve doesn't work. Of all things, really!? That's why it gets a 1 star. If they can fix the spit valve, I would actually rate this as a solid 4 star.

A decent sounding trumpet, especially for one of plastic. I have been a trumpet player for years and this was a fun gift for another trumpet player that owns 50 historic trumpets. The sound is quite good, much better than you would expect. One of the valves on the unit received is quite sluggish and the other 2 are fine. He tried cleaning the valves, he tried using water on the valve, then cleaned again and tried light weight valve oil, then tried trading to a different valve location (yes, these valves are interchangeable to any of the 3 valve locations). The one valve is still sluggish. You will really "stand-out" with this and the sound is good.

As an adult, I played trumpet through college. Years removed from that, I was interested in getting a horn again to play along with my kids. Price point was my primary consideration, so I was looking at this, taking a leap on a cheap used, or one of the sketchy new brass horns. Seemed like this might be low risk to simply get something functional. After using for quite some time, obvious pros and cons, but overall happy with this purchase. Pros: Unique, and fun to play - friends love to try it Crazy-light weight Decent sound Cons: Not a big deal, but skip the included mouthpieces - noticeable difference with the real thing Not as forgiving, some intonation issues Valves not incredibly responsive Overall tone isn't as rich/complex Still, amazed that something that looks like a toy sounds as good as it does. I don't want to overemphasize my 'cons'... Realizing what I bought, I'm not at all disappointed... would recommend.

This trumpet is perfect for my petite 6 year old granddaughter. It's lightweight enough for her to carry effortlessly. The purple color was true, as seen in the picture. The tone is very clear considering the price. 3rd valve sticks a little but is not very noticeable. She loves to play it with her dad. She now is a trumpeter like daddy!

I bought this trumpet (blue) for my 18-year old son who spent the semester in Ireland. Not wanting to travel with his $3,000 Bach Stradivarius abroad, he left his trumpet at home. He was so happy to receive this, because he had missed playing so much. He said that it performs very well, and was even able to make a couple of recordings with it. This was the best investment we could have made for him, and I am so grateful for the great value of this excellent product that brought my son so much joy when he was missing his trumpet - and his home.

I love that it will never corrode! Keys sometimes get a little sticky. But nothing a bath can’t cure. I can play in the rain without care! Downside- it seems to have developed cracks in two of the pistons . But that doesn’t really seem to affect its playability. It is a bit more resistant than my vintage Olds Aristocrat. But still a fun stress free instrument to leave out and play for a minute here or there. Just remember to swab it out after use so it doesn’t become a science experiment inside!

This trumpet is brilliant. It’s light, sturdy, excellent for beginners but my son’s teacher also rates it highly for having a decent sound. What made me actually bother to write a review is how impressed I was with the after sales service. We had a problem with sticking valves, tried trouble shooting, but when this didn’t worked I reached out to the company and they were amazing - efficient, responsive, helpful. Highly recommend.

Acheté pour mon fils de 6 ans qui débute. Elle est parfaitement adapté car très légère, il ne se fatigue donc pas. N’étant pas spécialiste je ne jugerais pas des prestations musicales mais elles semble d’un niveau tout à fait acceptable pour un débutant. Un des pistons coince, ça se démonte et une fois lubrifié ça fonctionne.

Leggo alcune recensioni di persone che si lamentano di continuo, non sono mai contenti, è una tromba da poco più di 100 euro, molto intonata, più intonata di alcune trombe professionali, i bocchini in dotazione sono una bomba, se si usa un bocchino in ottone la tromba acquisisce un suono più ricco di armonici, ma a me non dispiace anche così. I pistoni non son o il massimo ma do comunque 5 stelle perchè per anni ho suonato con una tromba da 1000 euro Yamaha ed i pistoni non erano migliori di questi.

Lo compré por la comodidad de no tener que estar con la limpieza del latón y estudiar siempre que me apetezca. Ésta es más sufrida. No suena mal.
