I loved this set of two permanent hair dyes in black. The color came out rich, deep, and even, with excellent gray coverage. My hair felt soft and shiny afterward, not damaged or dry. Having two boxes is perfect for touch-ups and such a great value. I would definitely buy it again

This is a rich deep brown color that lasts several weeks before gradually fading. No ammonia odor, does not damage hair. The main reason I buy it, though, is that it is low in amines. There have been case reports of spontaneous detached retinas in women using hair coloring with high amount of amines.

For reference, I am Asian, have long medium fine hair down to my upper ribs, and my roots were about 1.5-2” in dark brown while the rest of my hair was a warm brownish copper faded bayalage. I recently tried the garnier oil hair color and my hair felt awful after and the color faded super fast. The ends of my hair were split and white. I also noticed it didn’t darken my hair all the way, there were lots of spots that were lighter where they were bleached before. So I did what any sane woman and first lightly trimmed my hair. Then I got to business. I’ve been eyeing this hair dye on Amazon and took the lunge just because my roots were so bad. There are reviews saying that they needed multiple boxes for medium short hair so I got 3 boxes for short hair because well, it arrived the next day and I wanted an at home glow up over the weekend. (Seriously- laminated my brows, dermaplaned, tanned, filed my nails, overnight face mask everything) I followed the directions and then I actually processed for 45 minutes because of my bleached parts(that’s what was recommended for grey coverage so why not) I shampooed with a gentle nonstripping shampoo and did a hair mask, then applied Wow gloss spray and gave myself a blowout. And just.. STUNNING!!! Seriously. It looked just like I came out of the salon. Everything was one color and just so glossy, shiny and soft. The color was deep and had a warmth but not overly just like the box. I couldn’t stop touching my hair. I did only use two boxes. I felt like I should honestly quit my job and become a hairdresser after that. (Not really, but I was like dang girl you did that!) I would recommend to anyone. It is a splurge, but you get what you pay for.

Was very excited to get this on cyber Monday, it’s expensive but is the best hair dye kit I’ve ever used and the color is so vibrant. Couple it with a really good color treated hair shampoo and it lasts! I have been using the volcanic black for about a year and am hooked. I got 2 for 42 bucks on the cyber Monday deal. I’m willing to pay the 32 a box normally because it’s worth it but was so excited to get the deal!! Fast shipping, no complaints at all!

I’ve tested many all-natural hair color options, and this one finally gets the balance right. The dark brown is perfectly neutral—no orange, no grey, and neither too light nor too dark—making it ideal for fair skin with freckles. The result is shiny hair and a color that lasts at least three weeks. Worth the price!

I'm currently in Florida and not in Chicago where my regular hairdresser is, and occasionally, I do get the urge to color my hair at home. I have to start by saying that I don't regret purchasing this or using it on my hair, but most likely won't be buying it again in the future. For an at-home color, it is pretty decent and does give your hair a nice shine. The value for the money is not great if you have anything longer than chin-length hair, especially if you have a lot of hair. I have hair slightly past my shoulders, so not super long by any means, but I did need two boxes. I should also point out that I do have very color-resistant gray hair. I left this color on my roots for almost 50 minutes, and I did not get good coverage on my gray hair at all. The color touched all of the gray roots and did leave a light to medium brunette shade, however, the rest of my hair is dark brown, as was the color I selected. So, sadly, this was a huge failure for root coverage. I can live with this for a couple of weeks, but I will eventually need to bite the bullet and go and get my roots touched up by a professional. Why am I still giving this product 3 stars, you ask? It's because I believe that if you're not trying to cover gray hair or if you don't have color-resistant grays, like me, this could work out well. Keep in mind that you will probably need two boxes, unless you have short hair, in which case, one box should do the trick. Also, I saw a couple of reviews where the reviewer was expecting to go lighter - these types of at-home hair colors will not lighten your hair so please keep that in mind. Most of us veteran color users know this already. LOL.

Made my hair very soft

Guys it was great my mom loved this product. It was easy to apply good mixing. We liked it.

The colour was fantastic and lasted about 12 weeks. Made my hair super soft. After 5 or 6 weeks I would use a colour depositing mask (made by another brand) and I would re-dye my hair with IGK every 3 months or so. My natural colour is a medium to dark brown and I've attached a picture of the dyed colour in bright daylight.

Since the day I colored my hair every time I wash it the color is coming out with the water for approximately a month, and the color just faded like that even tho it supposed to be dark. I don’t recommend it all 👎🏻

I purchased the golden brown kit. My hair turned out more orange than I was hoping for, it's still brown but with a really warm tint. Now that being said it more than likely has to do with my own warm undertone and no fault of the actual product just my own application. Even with the orange I still like it. It covered most of my greys. I love that the box comes with everything I'll need to dye my hair minus the clips and comb. It makes it really easy to do. Loved the product and will definitely buy again.

Nice colour but I have had longer lasting and better coverage by the box colours from the pharmacy for a third of the price. Colour change was not very noticeable

Perfect colour for summer months. The box comes with all you need for application and lots of product for coverage. Pleasant smell and leaves hair soft and shiny
