This is my first gun mic, but it surprised me. Firstly, the housing is not plastic, it is aluminum. The aluminum casing is highly shielded, effectively blocking electromagnetic interference and making the recorded sound much cleaner. In addition, it has a low-cut filter function, which cuts out the bottom noise and is indicated by an indicator. Importantly, the microphone has 2 types of power supply. One is powered by the connected device and the other is by battery. I was surprised by the battery power, as it is a good choice for shooting long hours of outdoor videos. There are probably some features that I haven't discovered yet, as I just got this mic. I like the microphone so far.

This Boya Shotgun mic is great because it can be powered by a single AA battery if no phantom power is available. The sound coming from it meets my expectations and then some. I have it connected to a Hollyland wireless mic system and just works. Just wish the storage bag was big enough to hold the shock mount too.

Shotguns have come a long way. This is a senn 415 knockoff for 1/4 the price.

Worst audio ever recorded. Worst than the default microphone on the camera. My phone colected better audio, my dog could bark clearer the words than what this mic recorded.

I read several reviews discussing the battery and phantom power. If you are using phantom power, you MUST have a battery in the mic, but it is only a conductor at that point. A dead battery works fine. The same is true for many of the shotgun mics including the AT. I always pull the battery and store it in the case to avoid corrosion. But this is common in stand alone condenser mics like shotguns.

Good product

For the price, this microphone has good audio detection, but the plastic mount is very flimsy and cheaply built. It would seem to break instantly from a heavy impact, while in the field. I would feel more secure using it, if the mount was made of aluminum. I personally despise plastic made parts that compromises the use of products depending on durability for field work. Therefore, because of the low quality mount, I awarded 3 stars only.

Produto funcional e de excelente qualidade. Senti falta de controle de volumaçao no microfone, como em outras marcas. Mas o equipamento cumpre sua função!
