Having the 400/1000 and 3000/8000 stones themselves (which work great, no quality issues with mine at all) would have been worth the price as I had purchased just an 3k/8k a few year back for ballpark of what this set is priced at. A coarser grit stone added to the mix for edge setting on badly dulled blades would make the kit more complete, but in no way do I mean this as a critcism.The bamboo base is solid and works well.The angle sharpening guide is not something I use much but it is perfect for those new to hand sharpening or those looking for easier sharpening at that specific angle.The strop is...serviceable? Not great, but usable. I use it for my "work" knives; and (at least the one I received) is probably not the best for something like a straight razor or other such finer edged knives.All in all, great value.
