This is a great quality item, but just be aware that the wiring is this as follows: Pins 1,2,3 of the XLR are connected to pins 1,2,3 of the mini jack. It is standard BALANCED MONO configuration, and perfect for connecting a balanced mono output to a balanced mono input. If you want to use this to connect a mono XLR balanced microphone cable to, say, a camera microphone STEREO input, you will get a stereo audio recording with left and right channels out of phase (which is what 'balanced' basically means). Opposite phase signals will cancel when summed to mono and also sound strange in stereo and induce a sea-sickness sort of feeling. This application of the adapter will require inverting the phase of one side in the edit stage, or using a further XLR adapter or similar to connect XLR pin 2 or 3 to ground (make it dead) and connect pin 2 to both pins 2 and 3 (which will 'un-balance' the XLR side before connecting to this adapter)... hope that helps audio novices

Item was used for connecting Bluetooth modual to remote speaker. Completely functional successes.

The 3.5mm jack has an over long pin. It will not go all the way into a 3.5mm socket. Unusual and not desirable.

Unfortunately this didn't work at all for me. Picked it up for a job and couldn't get any sound from it on the day and sort of forgot about it. Just needed to try it again today and I tried 2 different XLR mics through this adaptor into a Zoom H4N and I got a lot of hissing and some awful quality sound, completely unusable. I tried it into a Rode Wireless GO II, couldn't hear any of my mic through it, pull it up in an editor and the voice is lost in all the noise. I see some reviews saying this worked for them, I think I must have got a complete dud. In the bin!

But did not work as I'd hoped it would. Probably more my fault for not doing proper research.

The cable looks well made and robust, but when I tried to connect an XLR mic to a jack connection, the audio had a loud buzzing noise on it and was totally unusable. I replaced the cable with a Sennheiser one instead, and that worked perfectly.

Past precies op XLR kabel van mijn microfoon. Niet elke kabel is er geschikt voor, dus ik was dan ook zeker blij toen deze bleek te passen.
