What is the diameter and depth (height) of this bowl?

Hi Gayle, The diameter is 6 1/4 inches and the depth is 3 inches. It is a little large for a cereal bowl but I use it for many other things like vegetables, etc. I think you will love the light weight and the non chip surface.

Do these bowls make a loud clanking noise when being used?

They make the same noise a regular pottery bowl makes. Not too loud. But not quiet either. Overall I like the bowls. Wish they were a bit larger but they are fine.

Someone left a review saying that there bowl got rusted did this happen to anyone else?

I have never heard of this happening unless someone left flatware that was beginning to rust in the bowl with water. These Corelle Livingware bowls are made from Lightweight Vitrelle® Glass only so there is no metal to induce rust. Vitrelle, a tempered glass product consisting of two types of glass laminated into three layers. It was introduced by Corning Glass Works in 1970, but is now manufactured and sold by World Kitchen.

What are these bowls made of, plastic?

I believe they are made of tempered glass. It is a unique chip-resistant glass. I have had bowls like this for all of my life and have never broken one yet. I am sure they are breakable, but they are sturdy.
