I bought this moka pot because of its stylish looks. The black finish was looking good compared to the normal steel ones that are available. But to my dismay, I realised we should not judge a moka pot by its style. First the base of this pot is quite small and it does not sit in a stable way on a standard gas burner. While using it, with just a little movement, the pot tilted from the gas. This happened twice. It wasn't like it fell from a great height. just a little bit tilt and the coffee spilled all over. But worst thing is that with just this little bit rough use, the paint chipped off (see the image) and now it looks so old and horrible. Bad painting quality. Edited 17 Aug 2024 : The pot says it is induction compliant. Since it is as unstable as a drunk maniac, when I put it on my cook top I decided to buy an induction cooktop to be more safe. Turns out it does not get detected on the induction top coz its weight/base circumference is too small. Take a lighter and burn your cash, but don't spend it on this coffee pot.

Would have been better if the handle was made of metal instead of plastic. The handle will melt away if you accidentally leave it on high flame

I am yet to use it. From the looks of it, it should suit my purpose very fine. Have used other insta product like thermo flask, and that one has been with me for four years - still being used every day.

I use this moka pot on a gas stove. It makes a much richer brew of coffee than anything I have ever used before, which is mostly Indian coffee filter and Aeropress. The base is small for a regular Indian gas stove. I learnt this the hard way when I spilt a hot cup of coffee on the stove, fortunately it just made a piping hot mess and no one was harmed. You need some sort of gas stand or need a very small gas hob to boil this. You can buy this at your local kitchen store for very cheap, mine costed ₹30. You need to learn how to use this gadget properly. Look at TheWiredGourmet channel on YouTube for a tutorial that should get you a satisfying brew. If you follow the instructions, you shouldn’t see a bitter brew or see any sputtering that many users claim. In short, the equipment is only as good as the person using it. This does the job that other expensive moka pots do at a fraction of the price. Highly recommended.
