SNOWIE Little Snowie Max Snow Cone Machine (6-Stick Kit, White)

Ok, I am a bit of a shaved ice snob, I have been making my own flavors from concentrate for years. I have been looking for a mid range shaver for a few years. I almost got a Yeti last year but the reviews all said the ice was fairly chunky. I have considered the Cub style block shavers, but it seemed like a hassle to have to deal with making blocks, setup, adjusting, and well it seemed dangerous with out a shield. I have even considered commercial units, but just could not make myself cough up the cash for those. I finally got a Little Snowie 2 based on the reviews and a bit on their reputation. I have lived with a Rival brand cube ice shaver that was OK but the ice was a bit chunky. Since it was a bit chunky the flavorings tended to drain through to the bottom of the cup. With the Little Snowie 2 the ice is very fine and holds the flavors well. I can not say enough about the quality of the snow it produces, I am very impressed. Since I feel I should put some "CONS" in a review I have 2 complaints. First it is noisy. I doubt I could run it with the kid asleep or he would be down in the kitchen wanting one. But I can live with the noise the snow is so good. I have only done 5 servings so the other complaint is probably my learning curve. But so far everything near the shaver has gotten wet. Like I said that is probably me and I can see what makes the drip tray so attractive. So if your on the fence about getting one of these, don't be, you need to just get it. In my opinion it is the best mid priced shaver out there. As other reviewers have mentioned the snow may not be perfect but the ease of use and the convenience of using cubes makes up for that and then some. Happy Brain Freeze.

We got this snow cone machine a couple of months ago, and it’s been a huge hit with our family! We’ve used it multiple times, and it continues to impress us with how quick and efficient it is. Each snow cone takes about 30 seconds to make using roughly a cup and a half of ice. We’ve tried it with both bagged ice from the grocery store and ice from our fridge, and it works great with both! The machine came with snow cone flavoring that tastes amazing—a perfect treat on a warm day. My kids (ages 5 to 11) love setting up their own little snow cone stand in front of our house, and it’s become a fun way to bring our neighbors together. Everyone loves it! One of the best features is how safe it is for kids to use on their own. It only runs when the lid is properly closed, and there’s no way for their fingers to get near the blades. I recently ordered a Snowie 2 after careful consideration. I read several reviews indicating great company support of this shave ice unit, and was the primary consideration for my purchase. This is because I live overseas and returns via mail are expensive. Before I received the Snowie 2, Jared from Snowie LLC was inquiring about the machine and how I liked it. Proactive support by Snowie LLC. Upon receiving the Snowie 2, I inspected it and proceeded to try and make a shave ice. I could not as there was a technical difficulty with the motor. I left a message with Jared concerning the issue and he responded immediately and after explaining to him the problem. He immediately offered to send another machine at their expense. They were going to send a return label, but after understanding hardship of returning the unit back to the USA from Panama, they decided I would not have to return the defective machine. I cannot say enough on how great this technical support from Snowie LLC is. I’m very happy with their belief in the product, and the customer support. If you’re in the market for a light duty ice shaver from a great company specialized in producing commercial ice shavers. Then look no further. I certainly will not look anywhere else. I will post a further review on the actual performance of the Snowie 2, once I receive the replacement Snowie 2. After receiving the new machine and making a shave ice cone. I will give everything a 5 star review. Thanks Jared!!!👏👌!! The Snowie 2 produces a blizzard of finely shaved ice out of the chute. It made a cone as fast as any of our commercial machines. We have Echols microflake and Gold Medals finest Hawaiian ice Shaver. The ice quality was perfectly acceptable unless you wanted block shaved ice which can be fluffier, but takes longer. This little unit is perfect for the intended use, small parties. It’s fast, shaves ice cleanly and fast. The flavors were very good. My 5 star rating cover the machine quality, machine performance and especially the company support. Would I recommend buying one? Without a doubt!! Just remember it’s intended use and you have a machine that produces commercial quality shave ice at home. KUDOS to Snowie LLC!!!

It’s not the cheapest, but it is so easy to use and creates great shaved ice. I’m glad I went with it over the budget options. I particularly love that it uses normal ice cubes; no special mold to remember to freeze. The kids are thrilled. And I am too, honestly! It will pay for itself rapidly given the cost of the shaved ice trucks.

I waited and waited for an Amazon Lighting deal which appeared this past Saturday afternoon for $168. By Tuesday the Snowie was delivered. That night I unboxed and lifted the machine with the rear carry handle, one of the best design features. There are no other pieces to mess with. We made 3 shaved ice cones for the kids and spouse. (Rated G ones for the kids and an alcoholic strawberry margarita one for the adult.) It's so easy to throw in a bowl full of ice cubes and make shaved ice. The machine is quite loud. The shaving mechanism is a ~2" high medal cylinder with multiple slots that spin at high RPMs to deliver the fine ice shavings and occasional icy bits though the slots. The machine fills up an 8oz cup in a few seconds. Rotating the cup around a few more seconds will make a nice round dome with the clear plastic shaping dome. This also prevents errant discharge of snow. The snow texture is nice and fluffy. However the texture not to the same level as the shaved ice shops in Hawaii made from commercial block shavers. Most of the ice is a fluffy snow texture but intermixed with small bits of ice. But the texture is far better then the $30 model we had before, where everything coming out are 3mm bits of ice. There are 3 dislikes with this machine. The cover is also the switch. Press the cover closed and the motor cranks. Let go, and the cover springs back up with a 1" gap above the ice hopper which allows warm air to melt the ice. A closed cover will keep ice dry and colder in the hot summer. The other issue is the gap in the machine housing. The machine plastic housing is molded in 2 pieces and butted together with very small bolts & nuts. There is a very clearly visible 1-1.5mm gap in the seam around the whole machine. I wish the casing was fully interlaced to leave no gaps especially in the hopper to prevent leakage. The most problematic issue is any melting water runs out of the blade enclosure and down the plastic dome and down the front of the machine. There is no way to put a cup or bowl under the edge of the dome to catch dripping water. Their $40 drip tray will not help either. Over time, I wonder if the dripping water will uplift the product decal. That would be a shame. There's a coupon code for 3 pints of 'free flavoring' however the shipping actually cost more the flavoring itself. Nevertheless, I'm sure this will be well used this year's parties and I'm sure I'll break even by mid summer. Today at my kids school, a local shaved ice truck made their monthly stop. I saw that they use a commercial Snowie machine. I can't believe the $6 per order. Now I feel even better about my purchase of the Snowie 2. Got syrup?

I bought this as a gift for our whole extended family. It makes beautiful shaved ice in just a few seconds. It’s loud but really fast. We all enjoy choosing and mixing our flavors. It is a great deal of fun for all ages. It is very sturdy and well made.

We've had various machines over the course of the past 25-30 years making these. Every one required freezing a round block of ice overnite, stick it in your machine, and either hand crank or later versions electric crank the blade against the ice block for ice shavings. We were never able to get really close to the Hawaiian or Italian ice versions we would buy at the amusement parks and fairs over the years. More like finely ground ice chips. After looking at all the reviews and other products out there, we bit the bullet and made the purchase of this unit. Very simple to use. Through practice, we figure an 18 ounce Go Cup full of ice cubes makes one decent sized snow cone using their cups. As far as noise, mess and cleanup. Yeah, it's loud, but so is being being behind a lawn mower for 2 hours, whereas you can make a snow cone in about 30 seconds. Very tolerable. Side note, whenever our cats see me remove the unit from the shelf, they hightail it out of the kitchen knowing what's coming. Whatever cubes didn't make the cut, we simply dump whatever remains into the sink and let the unit sit on a counter protector for an hour or two to allow whatever ice remains to melt and drain. Then, dry off the unit and put it up. Easy peasy. We also purchased the Ultimate Shaved Party Pack as this included 12 mixing bottles, 8 cups, 8 spoons and a 12 pack of flavors. Cons as follows: One of the cups had a hairline crack on the bottom. Didn't notice until we made a snow cone and it started dripping Tigers Blood all over our cloth place-mat. Needless to say ruined as the stain will never come out. One of the mixing bottles has a slight crack close to the top of the neck. In other words, when you shake your mixture, it will come out of the crack. The pour spouts are really poor spouts. Not impressed with the design and utility of them. This would have gone down much better with a screw on spout and a sealing cap that snaps shut. I use a cap from an old lemon juice bottle, screw it on and shake the toot out of it. Then put their pour spout back on to dispense. Helpful hint. Their pint bottles call for 1 cup of sugar for a single mix. Whoa Nelly. That's a lot of sugar. We decided early on to only use 1/2 cup of sugar, along with 12 packets of Stevia (which equates to another 1/2 cup of sugar). There are other artificial sugar options as well. The taste of it doing so has been really nice. We keeping pouring until all the snow has been consumed by the flavoring, so we get a true Hawaiian/Italian ice taste. We enjoyed this so much that we went ahead and purchased 10 six packs of their Natural Flavor powders in flavors that we find the most enjoyable. Hope this lasts as many years as our ice cream machine. Went ahead and purchased a 4 years warranty just in case, but it's basically just Ma and Pa making and consuming these, so use is limited to perhaps a couple a day.

Does exactly what’s it’s supposed to do .. snow cones in no time at all..it’s light weight and you can move it around easily..perfect size for countertops..it is some what noisy but it’s doable..I truly enjoy my snow cone maker

As advertised, you pay for quality you get quality. This does not disappoint. Turns ice cubes into powder. Just buy it!!! Great for slushies as well.
