I followed the instructions as closely as I can and it had a medium amount of foaming action but not as much as I expected. I think the step to have a "pencil thin amount of water flowing nearby" is probably a critical part and you really have to dial in the flow just right. That said it made my formerly very stinky sink NOT STINKY and it hasn't re-stunk since I last cleaned it! For me, even with the lukewarm foaming action, that makes this worth it's weight in gold. Maybe it will do an even better job if I can get it to foam up more, but I really couldn't be happier. I had tried every other approach to sink cleaning prior to this and nothing worked or was only temporary, but one use of CLR has lasted me about three weeks now. It doesn't have that weird of a chemical smell when you use it and the smell goes away quickly. I know everybody has a different situation but all I can say is that it cleaned up my sink's garbage disposal very well.
