I was skeptical until I got the watch. Zero regrets
Great size 51mm for medium and large frame men. Heavy, disable. Quality built watch. Display seems dim but it adapts to see it in different lighting. Easy to use and accurate measurements at all times. It’s expensive, but worth every penny when compaired to other options.

Awesome Purchase
This is my first Garmin and I absolutely love it. It far exceeds my old Apple watch. Display quality is fantastic. The app is great. It works well with MyFitnessPal. The text message previews are solid. The only downside for me is that I can't control my music app from it like the Apple watch. Still, such an upgrade. Highly recommend.

By far the best Garmin watch that I have ever owned
I upgraded from a vivo active 4 and WOW this watch doesn't disappoint. It has an exceptional battery life, I took it out of the box and wore it for 2.5 weeks before needing a charge. The brightness is great for MIP display and the watch has plenty of real estate for data (I bought the 51mm). It seems to be very durable but I would highly recommend a screen and bezel protector as this isn't an inexpensive purchase.

expensive ultra trail running watch
I recently acquired my first ultra trail watch, which was a significant upgrade from my previous Apple Watch. One of the standout features that I immediately noticed was the impressive battery life, which lasts longer than 25 days and can even extend up to 30 days, depending on how you utilize its functionalities. This extended battery life is particularly beneficial for those who engage in long outdoor activities or races where recharging might not be feasible. Additionally, the flashlight feature is incredibly convenient for everyday use. For example, it comes in handy during those delightful evening barbecues when it gets dark, allowing for better visibility while cooking and enjoying time with friends and family. However, I have yet to fully understand how the solar charging mechanism operates. So far, I haven't noticed any significant changes in terms of charging the battery with solar power, but I am still experimenting with it. I've used this watch in several races now, and I can confidently say that I am very happy with its performance and durability. It has held up remarkably well under various conditions, and I am pleased to report that there are no scratches on the watch so far. Overall, this ultra trail watch has exceeded my expectations, providing me with both reliability and functionality that enhances my running and outdoor experiences.

Works well but not always intuitive
Stylish watch that works well for both sporty and classic looks. The battery life is excellent. However, the menu is not always intuitive, especially when navigating pre-set workout programs with multiple exercises. Also, keep in mind that the watch is fairly heavy — after wearing it all day, you might feel some wrist fatigue and want to loosen the strap or take it off for a while. At $500, it’s a pretty good deal, but I wouldn’t pay more than that.

GET IT!
Love this watch. Use to be a G shock fan boy. I have been wearing this consistently since. The size I got is a bit heavy for running but the features it has are awesome!

A great watch!
This is my third Fenix, after the 5 and the 6, and it is by far the best yet. I don't use any of the sporting activities, so that may be why, but the battery charge from 100% to 10% takes 28 days! One problem I had with the earlier versions is wear of the charging port. I assume that this was the cause, but I had great trouble getting a connection for charging. The 5 was even worse because you had to plug it in to upload the data to the phone app. Anyway, plugging in once a month should mean it takes a long time for the wear to be an issue! I love playing with the various watchfaces, editing and changing colours or fields, to get the look I want. Then I go get another one! Definitely not a cheap item by any stretch of the imagination, but I have no regrets at all!

Review date: 5th April 2024 In a world of poor quality products, this device truly leaps out as a marvel amounst the smart devices. A device that is like no others and is actually worth the money that I paid for it. I have owned this device since February 2024, and it has spent 90% - 95% of that time fully charged, and on my wrist. Even now when I look at my watch, the battery is 69%, my heart rate is 74 beats per minute (Bpm) and my daily steps are 9207. This device monitors my stress levels, and can send an alert when my Bpm increases above a specific level. This has previously allowed me to relax, utilising the devices built in breathing exercises. The device can differentiate between napping and sleeping, and will advise accordingly. Monitoring whether the desired sleep or nap was sufficient. It can also advise how much sleep you require, and whether increased sleep is required due to your daily stress levels. It monitors everything from your resting heart rate (RHT) to the location that you parked your car. All of the above functions are built into the device. The best part is, that all of the information that your device gathers is presented to you, via the Garmin connect app. The Connect app can be installed on android, iPhone, iPad, and windows devices. Allowing the watch users to gain access to their personal info. However, the Garmin Connect app, can only be accessed by one device at a time, and does not provide dual access (access from both the android device and ipad at the same time). The Garmin Connect app displays a logical user interface (UI), allowing the user of the watch to have a seamless user experience (UX). This Garmin connect app displays various graphical, and written details, providing weekly sleep patterns, suggested improvements to sleep coach information and stress levels. There is also an app store that is associated with this device. The app Store, which is called the IQ Store, and it allows watch users to download various apps. The apps range from analogue watch faces to more indepth sensors such as core body temperature. The watch strap is rubber, which isn't great, but is understandable, due to the activities that you can do with this device i.e. swimming, skiing, weight training, yachting, mountaineering, etc. However, you can change the watch strap if rubber is not to your liking. The watch strap ustilises a clipping mechanism, that allows the watch user to change the strap in 5 - 10 seconds. At the time of writing this review, I have charged this device 3 times (when I initially brought this device and twice when the charge fell below 50%). This has allowed the device to work with my body 24/7, to monitor all of its essential functions from sleep to Heart Rate Monitor (HRM). This review has highlighted some of this devices functions, as each function of the watch would require an equal sized review. My personal advice would be to buy the watch and try it for 3 weeks. If you don't like it send it back, but I have a feeling that once you use this device, you will be confused regarding how you went through life without it. On a final note, this device has a built in torch! Who puts a torch into a watch? Garmin, that's who.

Of course a Fenix 7 has everything you need and more. I had my eye om Fenix 8 but the price was too hefty, considering that you get almost the same thing with Fenix 7 for half the price. I do like the grey band together with the metal bezel. I always found my Forerunner 255 not great together with my suits and shirts (which was one of the reasons for buying a new watch) but Fenix 7 blends perfectly and still looks cool as a sports watch.
