I bought a calculator a little over a year ago from another well-known brand, and was surprised that after only a year and 3 months, the fluorescent display was starting to fade.I decided to take another look at what else was available. I wanted a calculator that was large enough, but not too large like some of the behemoths that are available. I almost never use the paper tape, but once in a blue moon that feature comes in handy. I didn't care about how fast it printed because I almost never print anything. And I wanted a machine with a good display that would last.So I looked at this Casio, and it's a great little machine. For one thing, instead of the old fluorescent display it has an LCD display. Nice, large numbers. Next, it has a built-in sleep mode that happens after approximately 30 minutes, thereby saving the display even further. It's easy to wake up the calculator - you just press the CA button on the left (which also says ON next to it) and that turns the display back on.
