This Horn is so beautiful, I definitely recommend buying one. After browsing drinking horns from different makers, I felt the Thor Horn was the best; quality, customer service, and price wise. Mine stands at 13 inches. I bought this as a gift, early enough in case there were any issues, and there were none, at least none that required a return. The reviews had me concerned about a horrible smell, hence me buying so early before Christmas, but the horn I received has no noticeable smell, the bag however, has a very strong earthy scent, it absolutely did not come from the horn itself; unless it was somehow completely transferred from horn to bag? So I aired it out for a week and the smell is gone. As these are handmade, there are a couple of tiny flaws. In one picture I show the inside of the horn, aside from the dust, to the left there are a series of small nicks, which I don't believe will not cause any issues if being used to drink from. The other picture shows two whitish inch-long lines, where it either missed getting polished, or something struck it and scraped the polish off. It is not visible if the horn is in the stand. Also, the stand doesn't really match the horn, but I'm fine with that. I'm highly tempted to buy one for myself as a display piece, it's definitely unique as no two are the same.

Fun gift for that special someone. does tip over easily, but great fun for those that have a fondness for these unusual type of things.

I'll start by saying that I am a Norse pagan and use these items virtually everyday, so I know horns quite well. This is a beautifully crafted horn! Mine arrived intact and with no damage. The craftsmanship is to be applauded. The stand could use some refinement however, specifically around the tail hole, but this isn't a big issue. The size and coloration of the one I received is nearly identical to the one in the main photos. I love it! My only real complaint is that the ad claims 20oz filled to the brim......and while my horn is a magnificent vessel coming in at nearly 19 inches, it holds only 14oz to the brim. For me, this will not be an issue as I have and use many horns for different purposes.....but for many it will be the only horn and should be explicitly as described. I give 4 stars because the horn is beautiful, well crafted and truly enjoyable to both look at and use but it could be either more accurately described or the seller could at least list the possibility of SIGNIFICANT variance in it's outer size and inner capacity. For those like me with either many horns or those who aren't bent on having specific capacity it truly is a vessel to be treasured for years to come! SKAL!

This drinking horn is great. Very well made, stand is sturdy and great for display. I loved the gray/black color of the horn I received. I gave this to a friend for a secret santa get together and he loved it so much he began to drink out of it instantly and for the rest of the night. The recurring negative comments center around the uneven brass circle around the horn's opening as well as the smell of the horn. I'd like to address both of these as I see no merit in these critiques. First, the brass ring cannot be perfectly circular as ox horns do not grow perfectly circular. The ring is adjusted to fit the horn's natural shape. I prefer the original material to be tampered with and altered as little as possible so this wasn't an issue for me. Next and most importantly, the smell. Yes, the horn smelled pretty rank when I received it. What do you expect? It was part of a living organism at one point. Using dish detergent and cold water, I washed and rinsed the horn several times, then set it near an open window overnight. The smell almost completely disappeared and I expect after several uses it will diminish entirely. This is a great product, perfect for a gift or a display piece and I will most likely be ordering another for myself in the near future.

The horn looks attractive. I thought I ordered the "raw" unpolished one but I got the polished. The stand holds it fine, no balance issues when full or empty. My two main complaints are this: It stinks. Even after washing it still smells unpleasant. This distracts from your drink. The metal band at the lip is polished, but still raw metal (not sealed). This gives a very strong metallic taste that lingers on your lips. This seems to fade a bit with watching but has yet to go away. It would seem a full food grade sealant would have alleviated both issues. I have a horn from their competitor and it's fully sealed and is a very good product. For the few dollars more I would probably stick with that brand from now on. If they see this and reply that perhaps this was a lesser quality than they normally sell and are willing to do something about it, I wouldn't mind giving them another chance. A company that stands behind a product means they are willing to take care of customers. I admit that maybe this was one that slipped through QA and not their normal fare.

1. The Horn and stand are not the same as in the photos of this product. This seems to be a cheaper version, worth INR. 1,100 (see other products & you will find this exact design). I have added photos of how it looks from outside, as well as inside. You will see, on the inside, their are some white granules, powder/dust from the process of manufacturing it. Clean it very thoroughly before using it for drinking purpose 2. It smells awful. I cleaned it 3-4 times yet the smell has not gone. It stinks like a rat died inside. Really awful. No one can use this for drinking purpose, until one gets rid of this awful.. awful.. smell. What use is a drinking horn if i cannot drink from it? 3. Just see the image of the bag in seller's photos & then see the image of the bag I have got. Seller's photo shows Printed Image on the jute bag. All I have got is a jute bag half the size of what is shown in the photos & with a "Sketch of a Viking, downloaded from Google, on a piece of paper, taped to the jute bag"... "TAPED".. This is shameful on the part of seller. What a cheap way of treating your customers 4. Material (acrylic)& finish as such is okay & looks good, but the above 3 points really do not make it worth the money being charged here. Specially with fake marketing & shipping product not matching the photos. Does not seem worthy of more than INR. 400 - 600
