Lift Ticket
A Diaclone version of Hoist and a great figure.

I like it - just wish it rolled better.
This was my second Transformer since getting back into them. I bought two, one for myself and one for my grandson's ninth birthday. I bought him another one which transforms into a dinosaur - but loved the look of the robot on this one, with the classic truck bonnet chest. The transformation process is slightly tricky, because you have to tuck everything in - but with the help of youtube I got there. The truck mode looks very cool - but the arms are tucked away underneath and make it very difficult to roll properly on the wheels (which is a shame, the wheels are good). I also now have the 'Transformers x Stranger Things' crossover toy, and the VW camper van that toy transforms into rolls perfectly and has everything neatly tucked away inside. I love both toys, but that one is so much more aesthetically pleasing in vehicle form.

Are there ski slopes on Cybertron???
One of the strengths of the ‘War for Cybertron’ toy range was that it provided the opportunity to obtain/own (sometimes if you were exceptionally fortunate due to their exclusivity) some very rare characters that had only been released as official figures/toys occasionally or, even, never before. The new ‘Legacy’ line looks like it will continue to do such a thing if this early Generations Select release is anything to go by. From a certain perspective, Lift Ticket is a relatively new character and there was only one toy released under that name prior to this one. However, he is based upon the original Diaclone figure that was utilised to form the basis for Hoist. Like quite a few of the figures that Hasbro adopted in the eighties for their Transformers range they opted to change the colour. Thus, Hoist was produced in green rather than red. The Legacy version of Lift Ticket is, perhaps, not surprisingly, therefore a redeco of the last Hoist figure/toy produced by Hasbro, that from the ‘Earthrise’ range. Personally, I was not enthused by the ‘Earthrise’ version of Hoist initially, considering the Trailbreaker variation of the mould far superior. However, I have warmed to it and the red colour scheme that harks back to the original Diaclone figure really suits it. The mould does have its flaws (mainly the poor effort at concealing the lower arms and fists in vehicle mode and the lack of clearance for the wheels), but it has an enjoyable transformation process and both modes look fairly decent. Being a repaint of Hoist does mean that Lift Ticket has more in common with the Earthrise toy line than the Legacy one to which he belongs. Obviously, he possesses the same little ‘ramp’ that folds out from the back section to connect with other toys that use the AIR lock modulator system from Earthrise. Lift Ticket also lacks any type of energon infused weapon which is the gimmick of the Legacy figures. Fortunately, though, he doesn’t have the badly applied battle damage on his hood/bonnet that Hoist had. It's a shame that he has such a lame name because it is good to have the red version of Hoist finally realised as an obtainable character. Who knows, perhaps, the blue version from Diaclone might also make an appearance.

Gun missing
Can't argue at the price but dissatisfied that the gun was missing from the sealed box so clearly a quality control issue
