Very comfortable
This chair is solid! I got an over engineered chair because I knew I was going to be using it a lot in my home office once my position had me working from home almost entirely. It was fairly easy for me to put together on my own, but it is incredibly heavy. Rolling it around is great but if I ever had to lift it, I'd need help for sure. I feel like this chair is going to last many years to come and even after almost a year of using it, it shows no signs of wear. The materials, even the fabric, are really great quality. I'm a bigger gal and I have plenty of room in this chair. It's very comfortable for all day use.

Very Durable, Heavy Duty Chair
I ordered the first on of these in 2008. I still have it and it is a little loose from using it every day for 12 years but it still works. I wanted a second one and I ordered that in 2020. It is the exact same chair. These chairs are very strong and oversized. They can hold a lot of weight without the metal wearing out. With most office chairs, the cheap metal eventually fatigues and even breaks. I have had chairs that lasted only a year or two. Not this one. I cannot recommend this chair highly enough and I am glad they still make it. It does take some assembly but a fifth grader could do it. Just follow the diagram, there are not a lot of parts and it comes with a hex key for the 4 hex bolts. If you need a strong, oversized office chair, that can hold up day after day and support a lot of weight, this is it.

Strong Frame but Lacks Padding
The chair was easy to assemble and for the first few days I was quite happy, but then the bottom pad began to become very soft so much so that after a few minutes of sitting on it I bottom out on the pad. I am far below the weight limit of the chair at around 325lbs and 6'4" so I am not near the weight limit of the chair. I believe a chair made for this size person should have firmer padding made to stand up to better use. I have since bought a third party cushion for the seat which remedied this, but should not be needed in the first place. Also kind of a downside that the chair comes with no arms. I purchased the compatible safco arms for the chair but they are extremely overprived and a very hard non cushioned plastic. Overall the chair is okay, but I would not purchase again.

Good build quality overall
Fairly simple to assemble yet quite strong. After a couple years I've started hearing some creaking from one of the casters but otherwise the chair is quite decent. The chair can tilt back pretty far or lock down, I've never been a tilt fan but it's not bad, feels solid when used. My single issue which took this down a point is that the minimum height is a little taller than I'd like, 19.5" is ok but I find my legs aren't comfortable after a while flat on the floor (I'm 6', but my legs aren't particularly long). They sell separately a shorter pneumatic tube which reduces the minimum height by 2", but since I've owned this 3 years and haven't bought that short tube yet, I guess that means this chair is good enough. I've rubbed some of the back's fabric down from turning the chair against my side desk, and it hasn't torn or come loose. The spots are worn through on the back but it's stayed contained, not giving me any trouble, so that's a good sign. The ability to buy arms for it separately is a nice choice, and I'm finally considering it after all this time. Bottom line, strong, decent, well made, sits perhaps a little too tall.

Don't do it! Big regrets here.
This chair is hard for me to sit on with wheels attached. I am 5'8", but even on it's lowest setting I can't comfortably sit down with my feet on the floor. Also the wheels move at the slightest touch, so if you're on hard floors the minute your leg brushes against the chair, it will go sailing across the room. So I took the wheels off and put it on a rug. I can sit down more easily/comfortable, but obviously now I can't roll around when I need to. I had just gotten used to this though when the piston suddenly died one afternoon during the middle of my work day. I am nowhere near the weight limit and had only had the chair for about 3 months. It's only ever been used for office work ~ I have no idea why it just randomly sunk down one day. Ironically now the chair sits way too low. I put the wheels back on thinking it might be just right. It's actually still too tall with the wheels on. So I contacted the company and they said they would send me a new part, but it wouldn't be available until 4/19. No word from them yet.

Not just an ordinary chair. Worth the extra $$$ !!!
It goes together like most other chairs. There weren't any instructions, although it came with a sheet of paper that claimed to be instructions. (If you've assembled one of these chairs, you shouldn't need any instructions.) You need to loosen the seat plate to get the tongue of the backrest under the plate. (Large Phillips screwdriver needed). They supply an allen wrench for the 4 screws, but if you've got a wrench set or some allen drill bits, work will go faster with less strain. This is a super-sized version of a NICE office chair. It's not a cheap chair! The extra cost is not just for the size. Metal wheels, heavy duty 5-point metal base, strong/thick (vinyl?) upholstery. Due to the size & weight, it was just a bit harder than normal to assemble. This is a chair you'll pass down to the next generation. A chair you'll see on "Antiques Roadshow 2135".

Well made
This is the second time I have purchased this chair in the last 10 years... They are very durable although thin on seat cushion but great on my back. The only complaint I have is the hydraulic craps out way before the chair wares out. For a chair that can handle 500lbs weight capacity one would think you would get more then the standard hydraulic. I know they can be replaced but I am not able to do that so I just keep buying new chairs. That being said this chair is prefect for me and I will buy more.
