Is it really worth $$$ Buying for everyday cooking ?

No, this is not worth the money!! There is a slicer grater attachment for only around $40 that basically does the same thing! This will NOT replace your food processor, there is no container for mixing things like a food processor!

what's the difference: KSM1FPA & KSM2FPA

KSM1FPA is white and does NOT have the dicing attachment. KSM2FPA is silver and includes the dicing attachment. So if you want to be able to slice, shred, julienne AND DICE, buy KSM2FPA.

How thick is the thickest slicing setting?

The cut goes from about a sixteenth of an inch to almost a quarter of an inch. I just used that feature last night to slice potatoes. I can't believe how fantastic this is. I had it running and dropped a potatoe in and without any pressure it sliced.This is a super item, I have used the grater a lot, works great and the slicer is great, highly recommend this!

What is the difference between ksm1fpa and ksm2fpa

According to KitchenAid: The KSM2FPA includes the Dicing Disc and Blade, the Dicing Disc Cleaner, and the Storage Case. These things are not included with the KSM1FPA. So, no dicing with the KSM1FPA. I have a friend who has the KSM2FPA and he absolutely loves it, especially for the dicing feature.
