Absolutely works for cholesterol decline. My Dr was impressed and said it was a very good supplement, and FDA approved, so she thought it was a wonderful choice.

UPDATE: I've only been taking this product for several weeks, and my first cholesterol test came back slightly better than my physical, so my doctor thinks it's on the right track -- but he's not entirely convinced this supplement will be enough. So I can't report lowered cholesterol at this point. Per the instructions, I take two capsules with each meal -- which means I make sure to bring a small bottle with me when I eat out in restaurants or someone else's home. So far, no major side effects other than the expected fatty stool, which is common, according to research. In addition to digestive issues in the beginning (which has started to normalize) I've noticed a huge difference in my HAIR. It is much dryer, and more frizzy after using this supplement for several weeks. My hairstylist also noted the change, and this supplement is the only change I've made in recent months. I am concerned about my hair, and think the CholestePure is pulling the nutrients away from my hair. Hair needs cholesterol for body and health, so this is a likely explanation for the sudden dryness and brittle hair. For me, it's worth a try before taking prescription statins, along with diet and exercise changes. My doctor is willing to work with me on this. Pure Encapsulations is a quality brand -- and I've had great experience with other products in this line, so I feel I can trust the product. Will report back after my blood work.

I received the product and opened it, only to find two empty capsules. One was cut in half and the other was empty but the casing was intacted. This wasn't the first time receiving the product like this. We'll see how the company response to this review. It doesn't upset my stomach, I have no side effects. The effectiveness, I am not sure because I would need blood work done. It is a little pricey!
