4th yeswelder product, and this one is a winner, with 2 year update
in an effort to downsize my shop equipment from old tech, which is both large and heavy, making it hard to move around a small shop, i have sat out to replace with new tech units. i have built a cart which holds two gas bottles, the yeswelder mig 250pro, the 250p dc tig, a tig 250 ac/dc, and now the cut65ds plasma cutter. this plasma cutter is easy to set up, came very well packaged, and cuts like a dream. while i won't be getting rid of my victor journeyman torch, i won't be using it as much as i once did. the yeswelder cut65ds plasma cutter has a smaller form factor than the other 3 units i have, which i would have liked to have it match the others in size (particularly height), 2.25" of block fixed that so that it sits at the same height as the mig250 pro that it sits next to on the cart. the unit weighs in at a svelte 17-18lbs, which makes it very portable should the user want to remove it from his cart and pack it around on a jobsite. as for cutting, this thing is a blowback design and i find it very smooth in operation. the one downside i have with the unit is the lack of extra consumables, it comes with one set, and one likely will want to order more. overall this thing is a winner! update: skip ahead to more recently, october 2025... and a new to our little city a very used (read that abused) with no love garbage truck. after getting a quote for $20 grand for weld/fabrication repairs to the compactor, i decided that i would take on the project myself and off to the races we go... so far i have used this plasma cutter to the max output of 65amps on 240 vac mains, and it has been flawless and after cutting more than a few hundred feet of nasty, trash impacted steel panels out for replacement, it has not one time balked on me, other than when the consumables are completely burnt up, which is to be expected. the unit is light and easy to move, so much so it is also easy to drag off of where ever you set it, so be sure to secure it with a safety strap to the handle if you are going to use it at the bitter end of the torch lead length. while in the middle of a long cut, i accidentally drug the unit off its perch and it fell some 5 ft down onto a gravel driveway, landing on its side... and it never skipped a beat while i completed the cut... my helper picked the unit up and placed it closer while i was still cutting away without any notion that i had tried my level best to kill this thing. even the powder coat is tough as heck, not even a scratch on the unit anywhere! i have a large ltec 50amp plasma that tips the scales at over 250lbs all in, and don't get me wrong i love that thing... so i was a bit hesitant to use the yeswelder cut65 on such a big job where i would be using it at max output for long stretches without proper time to cool down. if this little yeswelder completes this project, which i am close to doing so, it will surely have place in my heart, and the l-tec will have to take a back seat. this unit is nothing short of amazing in my opinion.

Awesome machine, awesome customer service.
This thing is awesome at a fraction of the competitors price. Albeit this is my first plasma I’ve had but I’m really impressed. The first one quit on me and I called them. Totally awesome customer service! They had me send a video of what it was doing. They sent me the newer version with the air thing built in and the upgraded display. This upgraded one is awesome. Totally free and didn’t have to send the old one back they told me to keep it. If you’re using a generator to power it take extra care to make sure you don’t run out of gas and you turn the power switch off before you shutdown your generator. Hint hint. You’re not supposed to use a generator with it ( I think it’s supposed to void the warranty) but it works great. My 5500 watt generac generator I can cut through 1/4” easily. I can tell I need a bigger generator because if I turn it up too high it’ll make the generator grunt really hard then pop the breaker, 20amp. If you have a large generator with a 30 amp plug this plasma would cut some serious stuff. One thing I will say, they need to offer a high end retainer for the torch end. If you use it too much between breaks (a lot) the retainer will heat up and electricity will conduct through it shorting it out kind of, this causes poor cutting performance. And you’ll eat through consumables quickly. I try to keep it cool with stopping periodically and dunking the torch in a cold cup of water. If you need a plasma I highly recommend this one!!!

A cutting beast, well worth the money.
I have wanted a plasma cutter for a long time and finally got one when it went on sale with Amazon "Today's Deals". This unit was smaller and lighter than expected. Everything together weighs less than 20 pounds. The instructions are less than optimal just like they were with my YW 205DS. The air hose is press-fit and I used a different connector than the one included for my air lines. The rest is a no-brainer. Out of the box and together, there were no issues. It is easy to set up and run where it auto-senses voltage and limits. First cut was 1/4 inch steel for a winch mount plate, then welded it with my YesWelder 205DS MP welder. This plasma cutter is a beast! Quick and simple to use, it cuts through steel like a butter knife. First cut saved me time over my chop saw and is a clean cut. It will take practice to learn cutting speed and the settings but looking forward to using it for other projects now. Don't let its size and weight fool you, it is powerful without the bulk and claims to cut steel up to about an inch thick.

wow this worked super good
Ok i went on amazon and asked about the best plasma cutters for the money and the s7 cut 50 was right near the top so i got it and when i got it i set it up and i could not get it to cut good, it went halfway through the metal and it just never worked good so i sent it back and decided to google the best plasma cutters under 500 bucks and this was right up at the top 3 so i ordered it and when it got here i went outside and did the exact same thing i had done with the S-7 but the yes welder 65 amp ds worked perfectley very first time out a perfect smooth cut on 3/8 inch steel so i tried it three other times and every cut was perfect so all i can say is i bought the yes welder 65 amp for about $269.00 with some discounts too and it was a perfect cutting machine i recommend it highly if your not sure and new at plasma cutters dont mess around just buy it and you'll be happy. I dont always do reviews but this time i needed to.

This little guy is a monster for the price.
The first picture is a cut in 3/16" plate after I installed it on my crossfire plasma table. I'm still playing with the setting to get it dialed in. The minor issues im having are more related to the crossfire system and not the plasma cutter itself. The second picture was just playing the plasma cutter straight out of the box at 65A and 80psi. It cuts through 1/2" like nothing. I'm impressed, especially for the fact that you can get this machine for less then $300.00. My other plasma cutter is a hypertherm 30xp that payed almost 2k for and this is comparable in performance. This is not designed to run on a cnc table however is not hard to get out to work. Im playing with the setting on the whole machine in general to see what it's capable of but for the price it is tough to beat. The short time I played with the plasma cutter itself it never failed to strike an arc but for some reason it fails to strike an arc on a rare occasion when installed on the cnc table. Again, that's an issue with the machine and Not the cutter. If your in the market for a plasma cutter, don't hesitate on this little guy. It packs a punch for such a compact unit. It's impressive!!

CUT-65DS Promising Features Marred by Inconsistent Performance
At first glance, this plasma cutter seemed to have all the features I was looking for. The digital displays were impressively bright and crystal clear, providing easy visibility of settings. Adjustments were intuitive and user-friendly, allowing for quick and convenient setup. The torch handle felt sturdy and of high quality, providing a comfortable and secure grip. However, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment when I began using the machine. Despite meticulously following the instructions, connecting everything correctly, and ensuring the power switch was turned on, the plasma cutter's performance was far from reliable. When I pulled the trigger, I anticipated a powerful plasma flame, but to my frustration, only a rush of air emerged from the nozzle. This lackluster result occurred repeatedly, with the plasma flame appearing a mere three out of ten times. The inconsistency in performance was deeply unsatisfying and raised doubts about the machine's overall reliability. It is disheartening to encounter such issues, especially when the machine showcased promising features. The bright displays and user-friendly adjustments, coupled with the high-quality torch handle, were overshadowed by the machine's inability to function consistently. Regrettably, I had to reach out to customer service in hopes of resolving the issue. They said it was a fluke and suggested getting a replacement. However, their proposed solution did not rectify the problem. Additionally, I noticed a substantial air leak inside the case of the second plasma cutter, further underscoring the quality control issues. Ultimately, I had no choice but to return both plasma cutters. Unfortunately, this experience not only wasted precious time but also caused significant delays in my project. It is evident that these repeated issues are not mere flukes but rather indicative of a larger quality control problem. In conclusion, while the bright displays, intuitive adjustments, and high-quality torch handle initially seemed promising, they were marred by the plasma cutter's inconsistent performance. I would caution potential buyers against considering this particular model, as the unreliability and quality control issues detract from its otherwise appealing features. Look for a more dependable option from a reputable brand to avoid such frustrations and setbacks.

Still killing it
This cutter is spot on. Still killing it at 3 years. Cut 1/2 plate very well at the high setting on 220v.
