As I was installing accessories from my BBC to SBC swap. I noticed my SBC did not have power steering. So, I attempted to use the bracket from the big block, but the pulleys on the pump would not align with the water pump pulley. I tried various solutions, such as using washers and longer bolts, but I either couldn't get it aligned or couldn't get it perpendicular. This kit made that a snap. Pulled off the pully, accessed the bolts, quick and easy... and easy to adjust. If pully alignment alignment is an issue, especially for an engine swap, then this can help you out and reduce/eliminate the frustration aspect.

had to change a mounting point on the pump and then it bolted right up.

Mine was a custom install, but these made it easier and about the same cost as buying aluminum stock and making my own.
