Description and Size sadly doesn't add up.
This is my favorite drink. Before I bought it though I was trying to figure out the size this bottle comes in. The description states that the total shipping weight it 18.8 pounds. If you divide that by 12 I get 1.57 pounds per item. I was simply surprised when I opened my package that I got 12 0.33 liter bottles instead of the bigger version of 0.5 liter. I am quiet disappointed because that makes the bottle immensely more expensive and something that I already reconsidered several times buying because of the price not worth buying another time. So everybody don't be fooled. This bottle is the small version. Thumbs up for the drink. Big thumbs down for the description and pricing!!

It is hard for me to picture people actually enjoying this stuff.
I have heard a lot of good things about Club-Mate, so I finally decided to pick some up. WOW. It is bad. The flavor starts with what I can only describe as the flavor of overly fermented apples, if you somehow removed any sugar or pleasant aspect of the flavor, before quickly transitioning to a broad, bitter taste that lingers until you drink something less offensive. It is an absolutely face twistingly bad experience. I have had traditional yerba mate, and while not my favorite, I don't recall it being this offensive. I am wondering how Club-Mate has gained such a following in the programming community in the US, and the only thing I can figure is that it is helping to stave off the effects of diabetes from years of Mountain Dew abuse for people who spend a lot of time sitting. That is the only scenario I can think of that might explain why someone would subject themselves willingly to repeated exposure to this stuff. I understand that some people simply grew up on Club-Mate, and I suppose if you regularly consumed yak pee as a child, you might retain a certain fondness for yak pee later in life, despite the repulsive nature of it. I don't blame these people and I suppose if you have already had a lot of Club-Mate, you could want to continue having more. I am giving 2 stars in this review, because the product itself is as described - Club-Mate fluid in a glass bottle, clearly labelled and capped as far as I can tell. I am not a fan of the logo, which appears to be a woman in a witch hat and robes, grinning broadly with a fizzing glass of poison in her hand. She seems to be watching you, from the bottle, the neck of the bottle, the bottle cap. Laughing at your pain and tempting you to end it all with the sinisterly bubbling brew she proffers.
