Finally a screw on bottle machine
After buying one from 2 other listings finally this one is actually a screw on bottle type. The quick twist version of this machine has no replacement bottles (which apparently you're supposed to replace monthly) This version works great with my extra bottles, and the amount of carbonation is pretty good, i̶t̶ ̶d̶e̶f̶i̶n̶i̶t̶e̶l̶y̶ ̶c̶o̶u̶l̶d̶ ̶u̶s̶e̶ ̶a̶ ̶l̶i̶t̶t̶l̶e̶ ̶m̶o̶r̶e̶ ̶o̶o̶m̶p̶h̶ ̶t̶h̶o̶u̶g̶h̶.̶ ̶I̶t̶'̶s̶ ̶t̶a̶l̶l̶e̶r̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶n̶ ̶I̶ ̶e̶x̶p̶e̶c̶t̶e̶d̶ ̶b̶u̶t̶ ̶i̶t̶'̶s̶ ̶n̶o̶t̶ ̶t̶e̶r̶r̶i̶b̶l̶e̶.̶ I was simply using it wrong. I wasn't pressing the button long enough or waiting in between presses, if you hold it 1 Mississippi 2 Mississippi 3 then wait like 1-2 seconds then do that another 2 times it comes out absolutely perfect. When pouring in syrup you have to cap it quick or the CO2 tries to escape really fast.

Sparkles the water nicely
Super easy to use and get me sparkling water at about as cheaply as possible without needing electronics. I've sparkled about 50L so far without any issues when I use it. Somehow when a buddy uses it he manages to make water leak out of the support column, but I have never been able to do that myself. So maybe keep a towel on hand to wipe water from the counter. The system will make a vibrating buzzing noise to indicate stop carbonating. You can press down (and hold) for up to three times to get the desired bubbles. If you haven't used something like this before, you'll want to over-carbonate the water if you plan to use flavoring syrup in it as that will pull some carbonation out of the water. Darker sodas seam to do that more so than clear or citrus sodas oddly (but that has nothing to do with the actual carbonation system used). This DOES NOT come with a CO2 canister, but when I got it, it was still the cheapest option when purchasing canisters separately to this than systems that include the first canister.

Works fine
Doesn't take up a lot of room, simple to use, and carbonates well. It's helping going cold turkey on sugar drinks like sodas, makes water easier for me to drink, haven't had a soda since I got it and don't desire any most of the time. I use it plain, don't add anything to the water. Cheaper than buying cans of drinks, too.

Broken in less than a year
2nd UPDATE. I haven't even had this thing a year and it's already broken. When I release the button it sucks the water up into the machine and creates a huge mess. I have no idea why it's doing that or how to fix it. Very disappointing and I had to put the stars down to 1. UPDATE I was breaking down the cardboard for recycling and found the cap. For those who didn't see the cap, look in the cardboard ends, mine ended up being in there. I figured out how to hold it while pushing the button so it won't bend the whole machine over. It takes 5 times to get it to the carbonation level that I like. In all it's a good machine so I'm glad I didn't send it back. OLD The machine works fine but it's made of very cheap, thin plastic so when you press the button it's bending the entire machine over. Also the bottle didn't come with a cap so the sparkling water has to be transferred to another container which causes it to lose a lot of its fizzy. I might send it back. For as much as this cost I would at least expect to have a cap with it.

An okay product, not amazing
The PHILIPS ADD4901BKO/37 Sparkling Water Maker is okay, but not amazing. It works as advertised and does make sparkling water easily, but I was disappointed that the gas canister doesn’t last as long as promised. You end up replacing it sooner than expected, which makes it less convenient and not as cost-effective.

Keep plastic bottles consumption down
Perfect to keep sparkling water in the fridge. Easy to use. access to the CO2 valve makes a bit annoying to change the canisters, and impossible to install a larger one, but does what it is supposed to do.

REVISED Review
I got this in May and used it with absolutely no issues at all until mid-September. I loved it. THEN things went wrong. The machine worked and then it didn't and then it did and then it didn't.... SO, I wrote a lousy review and was contacted by Phillips. Guess what? They sent me a NEW one, absolutely free. AND they sent two more bottles because I mentioned that those will hold a liter but you are not supposed to fill them over about 7/8 liter. You have to love a company that stands by its product and makes things right. I am rating them 5 stars based on the performance of Phillips. Bravo for good customer service. May 23, 2024 I have used this machine to make an average of 2 bottles a day, every day, since I received the replacement from Phillips. It's started not working right 2 days ago - the gas blows out in back of the bottle connector. I had my friend who is a maintenance professional look at it and he feels he'd have to take it apart because he thinks one of the seals has broken. Even if he got it apart, would he be able to get a new seal? I don't know but I feel I got my money's worth and ordered a new one today - still a Phillips but Stainless because it cost a little less as "Amazon's Choice." This time I purchased a warranty plan which is really not needed because Phillips, as shown above, stands by their product. But if this one works for a year, I really can't expect Phillips to pony up a new machine - it wouldn't be fair. I know - TLDR. Buy it - it's worth your money.

Fountain drinks made at home is nice
Love this item. Gets used frequently for freshly made soda on tap. As an avid soda drinker feeling the pinch of inflation I did the math and this definitely is saving me money making my own drinks at home. So simple to use, maintain and clean. It's versatility with off brand co2 canisters is nice because you don't have to buy theirs directly and it's saving money again with plenty of options to choose from especially the unique flavoring additives, I bought a multi pack and the ingredients are so simple and natural compared to what you find on the back of most store bought drinks so that's another plus I like. Highly recommend
