Head does not pull out, it's just on a flexible pipe that you can position in any direction

Can this be hookup to a garden hose? If so what size garden hose fits it ?

The threading on this is 1/2” diameter. You can find a double male adapter in 3/4” (garden hose) and 1/2”

How long is the shank (pipe that’s threaded thru the counter hole)?

Not very long my plumber had a hard time getting through my guarts countertop . Had to devise a very thin gasket to be able to attach to our hard water line.
