My 14 year old watched Baby Einstein & now my 2 year old & they both love them & learn so much from them. They teach sign language & other languages too. No obnoxious songs - mostly traditional lullabies, soft spoken narration & classical music. Review: What a great discovery!! - I had heard of Baby Einstein in passing by other people but since my children are grown and in college...except for one that is in High School I didn't have to be in the new ways of teaching children(babies) how to learn their numbers and shapes. Now, that I'm a grandparent I started looking for different ways that I could not only entertain but educate my grand child. I came across Baby Einsten Numbers and Shapes Discovery Cards. Wow, how things have changed in 22 years anyway my grad daughter seem to be captivated by the colors...it was then that I saw that two different videos(dvd) went with the cards(this being one of them and Baby Newton) to help re-enforce what the children see on the cards and vise versa. When I first showed my grand daughter the video she was anything but intrested but I put it in a little later after she had ate and took her nap and she was just enthralled by what she was looking at on the tape. I wish they had these when my children were growing up but one thing is for sure my grand daughter will be a Baby Einstein baby...I have already ordered other products and can't wait for them to arrive and watch my grand daughter's face. Great Product, Great Price!!!

Wonderful and age appropriate
My little one absolutely loves this DVD and even asks for it by "growling" like the tiger on the front! It may surprise you that they only teach numbers up to 5, but as a former preschool teacher I believe it is very age appropriate. The DVD is not teaching them to just -count- to five, they are teaching the children how to recognize numbers up to five as well as recognize number sets (ie-when we see 4 things we don't have to count, we automatically know there are four things). I think it is wonderful, and had they gone on to teach 6-10 it not only would have been too long, but would have been overwhelming. I think it was very well made as does my 1 1/2 year old!

Great entertainment and learning for my 18 month old
I highly recommend any Baby Einstein videos. My daughter loves them all, although I've never been able to watch any of them for any length of time. My daughter has never been a tv watcher, but since introducing her to these videos she has been very focused on what they teach. My daughter has a vocabulary of a 3 year old and also uses more sign language than I know myself because of some of the other (B.E.) videos. I've incorporated these into my preschool readiness program in my daycare. My families are always asking to borrow a disk to take home and it's been a joy being able to share these with others. I would give this product a 10 if I could! Enjoy!

Another hit from the Baby Einstein company
This is a great DVD. That's the bottom line. My daughter loves it, and it really is helping her to learn her numbers. The 4 stars instead of 5 is because, as others mentioned, it only goes to 5...however, with the way they reinforce the numbers over & over & over, they would have to make it an hour long video in order for it to go to 10. I think that the fact that they repeat the numbers several times is very useful for learning, even if it's only the first 5.

Baby Einstein Numbers Nursery
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! I own all of the titles, and feel that this is certainly the best one for toddlers age 1 and up. When my daughter turned 19-months old she could count to 5, thanks to this video (of course I recommend the use of books, fridge magnets, and counting as you walk, etc.) but if you need 25 minutes to prepare dinner and would like for your child to get some educational fun in, this is it. Once she was too familiar with the main video, I clicked on 'Bonus Material' to discover that it was loaded with additional videos, counting games, discovery games and even flash cards for numbers 1 - 10 in 7 languages, which is perfect for our English/French bilingual household. Within 3 days, she was counting to 10! Now if only there were a part 2 that would count to 20.

A Welcome Return to Form
Now THIS is more like it! This DVD clearly illustrates the numbers one to five, in a clear, fun format, with music, great visuals, and logical format. The graphics are simple and uncluttered, the toys are new, and the puppets are not doing the same things over and over again. It teaches not only counting, but also reading, and this is the first time in the series that the bonus material is as good as, or better than, the main feature. The main feature runs nearly 30 minutes, exactly as stated on the box, and the bonus material doubles the fun. An essential Baby Einstein DVD to jump start your child.
