Perfect Fire Starter for Cozy Winter Nights!
Eco-Stix Fatwood Fire Starter Kindling is absolutely fantastic! We’ve been using these with small firestarter bundles in our wood stove, and they create a fast, intense fire that’s perfect for cold winter nights. The Eco-Stix ignite quickly and burn hot, heating up the chimney to ensure smoke drafts out smoothly without any backup. These all-natural pine sticks, packed with resin, make starting a fire effortless—no chemicals, just pure reliability. We just stack a couple of sticks with a firestarter bundle, and the fire takes off in no time, filling the house with warmth. The 10-pound box is a great value, lasting us through many fires. Whether for a wood stove or even camping, Eco-Stix are a must-have for easy, dependable fire-starting. Highly recommend!

The math proves this is an excellent deal.
Weight and product quality verified piece by piece. All but only a handful from the entire 25 pound box of wood is very resinous. It is definitely from one of the Ocote pines (either Pinus oocarpa or Pinus montezumae), which are pines native to Mexico and Central America. The handful of pieces (0.63 pounds, exactly) lacking the dense resin expected of fatwood are still from the same trees, but just not heartwood. Several reviews stated that the fatwood appeared to just be chopped up lumber. The fatwood I received had clearly been sawn into 1" slabs and then split into smaller pieces consistently around 8-inches long. This would be a practical means of attaining consistent pieces, because fatwood is generally made from stumps and not from prime lumber. Cutting the stumps into slabs before splitting just makes common sense. I wanted to make sure the weight was correct, so I used a postal scale and weighed handfuls individually and ended up with a total weight of 24.1 pounds not including the cardboard box. I would attribute the missing 0.86 pound weight to either the wood drying or outgassing of VOCs in storage, or the weight of the cardboard box it was shipped in. Not a big deal. Considering the average price from any local hardware store is 4X the price per pound, this is a fantastic deal. My only minor complaint is that about 75% of the wood pieces are somewhat thick for starting a fire and will require some additional splitting into thinner strips. Twelve handfuls weighing 1 pound each averaged out to 10 pieces of fatwood per pound. That is enough to start 240 fires as is with pieces that are 3/4"x1"x8" on average. I can split each one into 2-3 pieces. That is enough to start up to 720 fires. For people like me that heat with firewood for around 100 days per year, this one box of fatwood will easily last 7 to 8 years.

Good price; works well
While it still seems to expensive for fat wood, it's one of the best prices I found.

Fatwood
The quality of these is surprising! Don't hesitate! However the shipping is little questionable! They dump it wherever! Good thing we live in the woods! There very easy to use!
