Is this version of the k10 via compatible or does it offer any programmabilities?

No, this version of the keyboard is not programmable in any way that I am aware of. To monitor battery life, you need to hold the function key and press B and the color of the backlight dictates roughly how much batter. Red = low, blue = about 50%, and green = fully charged

Does this come with a dedicated dongle to use wirelessly without bluetooth?

No. The only option for wireless use is Bluetooth. It does come with a cable that can plug into anything with a USB-A port. This cable is used to charge the keyboard and to connect to a device for usage.

Why on bluetooth does this randomly disconnect? It seems to "freeze" and I have to switch back to cable to use it

It shouldn't do that. Mine doesn't disconnect. Try it with a different PC that has Bluetooth, if it doesn't disconnect from that PC, then its the other PC's problem. If it does disconnect the. Request a replacement if possible.
