Great color
Great hair dye I bleach my hair and it came out way to blonde this corrected it perfectly without damaging my hair more. The box came with so much more than other brands do, this included a Vaseline base to keep from dying your skin, a wipe, a shower cap and very good gloves. after my second use with this hair product I don't think I will use any other brand.

Madison Reed Hair color Kit
This product is amazing! Due to health problems wanted to avoid as many chemicals as possible in hair dye. At first I wasn't certain about this as it had kind of a sting to it in a few places during application and afterwards white hair remained around the face. But, then the color took over almost "magically" and everything blended in perfectly. I love it! Looks great and plan to use this product again and again.

Might be great for short hair or hair not previously colored. For me? Awful.
I used Light Golden Red, &7NCG, Genova Red. On the package, the color looked like an exact match for my original hair color. (I have just enough grey, here & there throughout my hair, to want to cover it... for now, anyway. Vanity... right? lol ) I fell in love with Madison Reed's packaging and the thoughtfulness shown in this very complete hair color kit. The messaging in it dazzled me, as well. Using the product, I didn't care for the smell of it, but it wasn't nearly as bad as some ammonia-based hair color products. So far, so good. In addition, I was impressed by how much hair color was included. Even with long, thick hair, I was able to cover everything from the roots to the very longest tips of my hair, and do so completely. The included shampoo and conditioner were both lavish and generous. Again, as someone with very thick hair, this was appreciated. But then, fresh from the shower, I looked in the mirror. Umm... It looked like the color coverage wasn't consistent. Not even close. Worse, when my hair was dry, the color at the top of my head was spectacular, but starting at about ear level, the color was much darker. Indoors, it looks almost black. On someone as fair-skinned as me, the effect was jarring. Suddenly, every freckle and laugh line seemed more obvious. This was NOT flattering. Oddly, the ends of my hair barely took any color at all. That was fine, because naturally colored hair is usually lighter (sun bleached) at the ends. In the accompanying photo, my head is tilted, so I'm looking up. You're seeing the top of my head as well as my back. Also, that picture was taken on a slightly overcast day, so the variations in color aren't due to extreme lighting. It looks far worse indoors, but I think the photo conveys the essense of the problem. Note: It's been a few years since I was a hair model, but I picked up a lot of hair coloring tips from the pros. So, I'm still mindful of the importance of coloring my hair thoroughly and consistently, and following package directions - to the letter - for the best results. In other words, it's not as if I smothered the top of my head with hair dye, and just loosely spread the rest of my hair with far lighter coverage. Likewise, I didn't douse the middle (now darkest) band of my hair with extra color, or omit coloring the ends, either. To me, it looks like this hair color should not be used on long, previously colored hair. I'd ask for a refund if I had anything to return to the seller, but - of course - I used the complete package. So, at best, that was a waste of $30. I'm going to wait a week so my hair has time to recover, and then I'll be using an "oops!" products to remove the Madison Reed hair color. Fingers crossed, it'll restore how my hair looked before using Madison Reed's hair color. (If that doesn't work, Plan B is to streak my hair with blonde. At worst, it'll look "artsy.") I'll agree that the Madison Reed hair color at the top of my head looks exactly as I'd hoped. It's very close to the color shown on the product's packaging. The probem is: The rest of my hair looks awful. If your hair is short - and, preferably, has never been colored before - you may love Madison Reed. For me, this was an extremely distressing experience. Fortunately, I work at home. This week, only my family will see my hair. If I go out, I'll wear a hat. Then, my hair will look oddly dark with almost blonde sun-bleaching at the ends. Short-term, I'm okay with that. I was tempted to give this product two stars because the packaging was a delight to read, and the included gloves, cap, shampoo, and conditioner were wonderful extras. However, I'm so disappointed by the product itself, I have to give this one star, and share my experience with others, so they don't make a similar mistake.

Salon in a bottle? Easy to use.
I buy these for my wife - and they do work well! Personally I don't think the concoction smells as strong as the competitors and it seems to work better than the brands she used to use in the past. Face it - gray hair is stubborn and this product works. The photo was taken after a very windy experience so don't judge that part - and we're only talking about my wife's hair as you can see mine is still gray lol.

Nice color, just a little pricey. Still better than the shop!
Color is great, includes everything you need, but it’s very high price for what it is! It honestly is very nice hair color though, but it would be very expensive for just a root touch up.

Hair love
It is well packaged and easy to follow. I will say it is thicker than regular name dyes I have used in the past. The best part for me was no burning or strong chemical smell. I am not sure how long it will last but it was worth not having the chemical smell. The cream they give to put on to stop stain on your face, I use on the drop that went on my pants, and it worked. So happy. The color coverage was good and good color.

Best Ammonia Free Color I've tried
Love this Light Ash Brown formula. My hair is "grey" (actually white now) and this ammonia free color covers my grey completely. What I really like is that the color lasts much longer than other ammonia free colors I have tried. Many ash brown ammonia free products use henna in the formula which results in red or brassy undertones. This product stays smokey (ash) even when color starts to fade. This product is gentle on the hair and scalp, more so than other ammonia-free hair color products I have used. No itchy bumps on scalp with this product and longer lasting results. Although Madison Reed is twice the cost, it is well worth the money.

Didn't cover my greys for some reason.
I like how less smelly this brand is but it did not do anything for my greys. I am not sure why the ads make it look super easy...I followed directions and left it on for 10 mins longer, plus the length of time it took to apply on all of my elbow length long hair, which I started with my roots first....I bought the NNN too. I am not sure why it didnt take. The photo I added is after dying and my hair is wet too, so the greys are less apparent in contrast to my medium brown locks. I guess my hair doesnt dye well. I have normal stranded semi wavy hair. My roots were grown out a good 2 inches from the last dye, which was also the Madison Reed, but I accidentally bought a color that wasnt recommended for greys, but this worked exactly like the other color I purchased. I like the color though and it has some darkening to the grey but not completely.

Didn't work effectively for me....3 days later my white roots came back, same like the other brands I have been using, just that they re far much less expensive....
