After testing many sizes we found this to be ideal. For soaking, It fits perfectly into a standard 13" casorole dish and it fits your wider cuts of meat with the 6" width. The 7/16 thickness allows you to get the grilling plank nice and hot to create plenty of flavor without compromising repeat uses, unlike the thin planks. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ High Quality and a rigid board due to thickness *by K***N on Reviewed in the United States on 25 April 2019* The dimensions are 11 3/4" X 5 1/4" X 3/8". The boards are well finished and are rigid for serving. Last night I prepared a 1 lb piece of Salmon, I estimate this size board would be suitable for 1 to 1-1/2 lbs of fish. I soaked for two hours, and used in in a Weber charcoal (lit by gas) grill. For this try I used the indirect method (coals on either side of the board). I preheated the board face down first to sterilize the board surface prior to contacting the fish. With the grill closed the temperature was about 400 F and I cooked it for 15 minutes. Very little searing to the underside of the board took place using the indirect method, and I will set the coals closer next time. You could easily use the board as a serving board on a dish. The fish was flavorful without being overpowered.For larger cuts of fish to serve four or more (say 2 to 2-1/2 lbs ) you would likely need to use two boards. The pictures show the top pf the board after cooking (and cleaning) for a future reuse.Good instructions were in the burlap packaging, although I did not see them until after I cooked. An excellent product from a US Company that uses quality materials. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Work well in oven *by Z***4 on Reviewed in the United States on 2 November 2022* I don’t have a grill so I tried these in my oven. After soaking a plank for 2 hours I placed salmon fillets on the plank, rubbed fillets with olive oil and seasoned. After 15 minutes in the oven at 375 the fillets were done and the flavor and texture were exquisite. In terms of comparing the planks with similar products these are of a higher quality and much more substantial.
