Beautiful Stair Treads
I am thrilled with my purchase of these non-skid carpet stair treads. They are well-made and look beautiful on my cherry hardwood stairs. I ordered these based on all of the positive reviews, and I was not disappointed. I only wish I had known of these eight years ago when I had new steps put in and had a rug company place their treads on my new stairs. They had glued and stapled the carpet treads onto the wood. The treads needed replacing and I had quite a job taking the original ones off. There were roughly 30 staples on each carpet tread! These treads were a breeze to put down. I made two templates for each side to help center the tread on each step. I had the templates marked to know where I wanted the front to be located on the step. It took less than an hour to place 12 treads on my split level stairway. The carpet is soft and cushioned with nice edging all around. They are definitely slip resistant as I tried several times to move one with both feet…they did not budge. These carpet treads look so much better than what I had there. I am so pleased with this purchase and the end result of my little home project.

A must for quality safety and design
These a great!! Would purchase more if needed. Already told neighbors about them. So easy to apply and peel up if need to adjust. It's like a tacky rubber. Doesn't leave residue. My dog is more comfortable now on the stairs. Dad feels safer using stairs too. I wish there was more color options. I was looking for a sage or olive.

Great quality
These fit perfect on my steps and it doesn't move and stays flat. It is sturdy and soft to the touch. I like the fact that you can remove it to clean and replace it and it still lays flat and stays in place.

Easy to apply and simple solution to slippery steps
I bought these over a month ago in relation to buying a new house. But only took them out today, because when you buy a house, there are so many other things that distract you. So with that said, I approached these kind of nervously, because I wasn’t sure if they would work for me, but I had already exceeded Amazon‘s return window. (As an aside Amazon, you need to really do better with that return window. Even 60 days would be better than 30!) I also know that in prior reviews people really complained about struggling with the plastic backing. So I was Avoiding it for that purpose. And then overall, just having the time to actually clean down your steps, really does require that you’re done with all your moving in and stuff. Because you don’t want people tracking dirt all over your new stair carpet. With all that unnecessary background, I found these super easy to apply. So I luckily did not experience the problems that people said about the plastic backing. I’m not sure if this is a reflection of maybe temperature. Because I applied these in November in New Jersey, and it’s like 40° out. So maybe people struggled more in hotter climates. But I thought getting the backing off was very easy. I do think you should go slow, because it is easy to tear it on a weird angle, because of the plastic piece that lays under the stitched edges. And so that probably is the part that’s most frustrating, because when you rip it that becomes a tiny piece that you kinda have to finagle your finger under the edge to get it out. But that happened to me very rarely. And it wasn’t so much of an issue to derail anything. I will say to do my entire flight of steps, which I think I used 12 mats and maybe there were 15 in the pack, probably took me About 20 to 30 minutes. And that was literally just because you have to manually tear off the plastic backing for each of the mats. There also is like a little machine wash instructions tag on every single one of the mats. And so I had to rip all of those off, because I didn’t want the sticky adhesive to lay on top of them. But overall, I thought it was very simple. I only put them on like Four hours ago, so I can’t speak to durability or whether or not they slip with frequent use. But I think they look good. I was concerned about the color, because I bought them before I had even bought any furniture or knew what the color scheme of my house was. But I decided to just go with a very neutral color, assuming that a beige would work with anything. So I do like the color seeing them on now, but I’m not sure how this will hold up to frequent use, and dirt. In terms of cons, I think the mats are not as soft or plush as I was expecting. But again I’ve never had to think about buying mats for stairs. So I’m not sure if there is some functionality piece on them not being very soft or thick. If anything changes with time, I’ll come back to update my review. But for me, the reason why I bought these were primarily for safety, but also there already were some dings and dents on the stairs from the prior owners. And I wasn’t interested in paying to get my stairs refinished, at least not right now. So these served a dual function to also cover up imperfections. So for my purposes, it’s working just as I would like it to.

Thrilled with these and grateful to have them!
I am 100% thrilled with these stair treads! I bought a package of 4 treads, and I also bought 2 of the bigger landing mat pieces, one for the landing at the top of the stairs, and one for the landing at the bottom of the stairs. My house is one story but has 4 ceramic tile steps that go from the rest of the house, down to a little back family room where my dear pets and I do most of our living. My dog is 15 years old and, for a long time now, has been very trepidatious about those tile stairs, as have I! He has slipped on them and so have I, and I've been trying for a while now to figure out how and/or what I could either replace or cover the treacherous tile with. A couple of weeks ago, my dog stopped going down those stairs at all. That is when I knew that the time for trying to figure out what to do to make those stairs safer was over, and the time to actually DO SOMETHING was long past due. After a LOT of research, I decided to order these treads, but I wasn't sure they would adhere well to the ceramic tile (it's smooth, yet subtly textured tile). Well! THESE TREADS ARE FANTASTIC, and I only wish I had ordered them long ago! They are affordable, they are extremely easy to install, if you can even call simply pressing them down where you want them "installing", and the hardest part is removing the protective cellofane from each tread before placing the treads down, which was not even hard at all, you just have take a moment and be careful to be sure you remove all the cellophane (watch the videos on Amazon--it's easy), and, last but most importantly: they stay where you put them--they adhere well to ceramic tile stairs!!! I wasn't sure they would, as the description says they are for wood stairs. I couldn't find any treads that say specifically in their main description that they are for tile stairs. These do say somewhere in the small print that they work on tile, so I went for it, and they DO!!! My 15-year-old dog is now going down those stairs again like a rock star! He has no fear about them anymore, and now that we've had them for a week or so, neither do I! I go up and down those stairs approximately a zillion times per day and the treads don't move! Yet, if you want to lift them off, you can, by just peeling up from a corner, but once you place them down and press them in place, they do NOT move forward, backward or sideways. AMAZING and so very much needed in my house to ensure my dog's ability to go down the stairs, his safety, my safety, and the safety of anyone using those stairs! (Also one of my cats loves the landing pads as hangout places, but I digress.) I only wish I had known about these a long time ago, as we need them SO much--I'm grateful!

I re-stained the open plan hardwood stairs a lovely red cedar colour which according to my wife made them too dark. The stairs were uncarpeted before (another contentious point) so I bought the Homeer pads (and treads) to lighten the stairs. The difference is amazing. These 5 star reviews don't happen by accident as I did a lot of research before buying them and am pleased to report that they look great. Colour slip resistance, and thickness were excellent. Don't worry about getting the backing off it's dead easy using a hair drier to release the backing
