This thing is awesome !
Actually I use it as a backup and also when I'm on a boat with lesser experience than myself captain. These hand-helds are very accurate, a unit you can rely on.

Nearly unusable
The product is flawed in so many ways, of which usability is worst. Who designed it? There is just no easy way to start a navigation, one has to go through myriad of menus. I can't believe there is no one button that would simply say "Go To" or "Start Nav". Adding waypoints is a nightmare. Battery compartment is NOT water tight as advertised. This is the worst GPS I've ever seen. I've returned this unit as of writing of this review.

Good device. But no maps of India.
Device is good. But it lacks maps of India. Garmin does not provide any maps of India. You can buy maps of Europe, USA and Canada from Garmin website separately. It does not come preloaded with maps. Moreover, a 32 gb micro sd card is required to download maps. It is not recommended to load maps on the device itself. It does not support micro sd cards above 32 gb. Also panasonic rechargeable batteries AA size (two are required) are recommended for this device. Do not use Lithium ion batteries as sometimes Lithium ion batteries have more voltage than written and that can damage the device. Not useful within India, unless Garmin provides a detailed map of India. Can be used if you are travelling abroad. Third party maps of India are available but they are less detailed and less accurate than Google maps.

Kein Netz- und Datenkabel mehr erhältlich!
Was man wissen sollte: es gibt keinen Kabel mehr von Garmin, das auf die Daten- und Netzbuchse (4 polige Buchse auf der Rückseite) passt, um z.B. das NMEA Signal zu senden. Das passende Kabel wäre das 010-10082-00 von Garmin. Dieses gibt es aber nirgendwo mehr, auch nicht bei Garmin.
