Can i charge my phone whilst it is in the holder?

Yes, I do all this all the time, there is a space at the bottom of the phone holder that allows for the charger to connect to your phone 👍🏻

Is there a way to tighten the flat part that the phone slots into? I cant seem to get it to tighten up whatsoever

Yes there is a plastic threaded tightener at the back of the flat part it should be fine then 🙂
