I mostly use it on-camera attached to the hot shoe and TTL and zooming work perfectly. I've used it at a couple of events and this flash never missed a beat. The LED light is a nice addition, thought I admit I don't use it very often. Scrolling through menus and settings with the dial is a little confusing at first but with a little practice it becomes easier, besides almost all settings can be changed on the camera in the flash menu. I've never had any overheating issues, and the battery life has been great. I also have the YN-560IV. I shoot exclusively off- camera flash. I have done one photo shoot with them and I am impressed. Didn't think I would have much use for the modeling light, but I was wrong. Used it as additional lighting to light the background while using a fog machine and it gave me a nice lighted background effect. I have yet to shoot ETTL so I can't comment on that aspect. Over all the build is well made not high quality but quality.
