Southwire Cable Splicing Kit 5Pc

Love this kit. The scissors are great. Knife is whatever don't really use it, pen is a felt pen again don't care about it. Flashlight is a cheap pencil light, but works good, hasn't died yet and has come in handy several times. The scissors... wonderful.. spring loaded lock, check. Sharp, check. Not made for children's fingers, check. Have enough grip to work but not bulky, check. Cut wire and sleeping along with lunch and string,cards. They are pretty much my everything scissors. Worth it just for them. Oh case/sheath is cheap, not expecting it to last long but so far it's survived the bag, would not trust wearing it.

I use a splice kit every day. I moved from the Klein kit to this, and I love it. The scissors are very durable and sharp. The flash light is ok, not the brightest but it’s perfect for needing a fast light. Surprisingly the marker has even lasted a good while. Overall, a great choice for an EDC

A wonderful snip. Fits in the hand well and never pinches the fingers. I’ve tried Kline and some other but southwire has made the perfect set. I just replaced my old one of 5 years because I cut everything with them and they just started to stick a bit. But still functional none the less. As for the pouch. I tend to just stick the cutters in my back pocket and they are always there without having a holster on the hip. I cut everything from about 16 gauge down to 22 and they never fail. And everything in between. I recommend to anyone that these snips will not fail you. Cheaper than the big names and better to boot. If you have large hands this is the set.

Can't go wrong with this pouch. The shears feel comfortable and knife is sharp. The leather quality is also really good. Like that space for shears also fits a pair of knipex shears. Good value

I love this pouch because it is small and holds what I need. The light is bright. The knife and shears are sharp and stay that way. The shears are spring loaded to be open. I am not used to that. Sometimes I switch them out for normal ones, but they work great and have notches to strip wire

Has a good selection of tools, the pen was useless, pretend it isn't part of the kit and put in the nearest trash receptacle when you receive the package and you will be much happier with it. The scissors are okay, but a little over the top in terms of design. They would have done better to have included a basic set of scissor run style shears. The pouch is good and made of high quality leather, the main compartment is big enough to hold the giant shears that come with it, or a set of normal electrician shears and a basic set of wire strippers, which is what I carry in it. the penlight is also very basic, it generates enough light to look inside a dark electrical box or under a table, and it is very light weight. However there are significantly better options out there for this size and class of flashlight, still, not bad as a freebie. Where this kit truly shines is the cable knife. This thing is incredible, I use it regularly, and every time it amazes me how I ever got along without it. The blade is razor sharp and the way the plastic sheath/cover for it works is pure genius. I would give the knife itself a solid 5 stars, but the rest of this kit drags far behind it in terms of usefulness and quality.

It is compact and awesome having everything in one spot ,downside is light falls out super easy out of the leather loop but either than that everything is well made .
