This spear looks like real metal from a couple feet away. For the price, I was impressed. My son had fun carrying this spear and a round shield as a spartan soldier for Halloween. It looked really big next to him. (He’s about 4’11”). He loved it. It would still look big enough for an adult though. We got 2 and my husband and he were play-sparring and one of the handles bent right under the spear head. They are not super sturdy. Just a prop. But safe and lightweight.

Great prop. Looks fairly real. Very light weight and somewhat fragile. Not for actual use, even in play. It would be nice if it had an option for a few more intermediate segments for taller actors like me. All things considered, it is probably one of the better props out on the market these days so long as you just need it for visualizations and not for utility purposes. Once the children got a hold of it, it did not last very long before it was broken. LOL.

Gave this to a 10 year old boy. As you suspect he carried it around everywhere gently swinging it around as he pretended he was a warrior / castle guard. It's fun. It's light. It's not sharp or dangerous. BUT it doesn't last long. After 6 days the top part of the spear broke from the pole. I get it. It's plastic. But my son didn't swing it around hard and he didn't slam it into anything. It's not constructed well. On the other hand, it isn't expensive and it was 6 days of good fun.
