Overall this is a cute little mug that would be great for traveling as it won't break. Being stainless steel it is dishwasher safe, but not microwave safe. It keeps a hot beverage warmer about an hour longer than a typical ceramic mug. The handle may be too thin for big man hands, though it is sturdy. Even pouring in hot liquid the handle and exterior always stayed cool to the touch, very well insulated. But because of that great insulation, it also won't work with a coffee cup warming plate because the heat doesn't penetrate. I'd recommend this for camping/traveling, or for someone who just wants a simple 14oz mug to keep their beverage warmer or colder longer than a normal ceramic mug.

Not really sure why there were so many "not-so-good" reviews. But then again, usually the only people who write reviews are those with negative experiences. It'd be awesome if Amazon gave discounts to a person who regularly reviews products!Anyway, I got these for myself and a few office mates who make our own coffee at work using the Aerobi Aeropress coffeemaker- which is probably the best coffee-maker I've ever used. Anyway, when using this press, you need a mug that will have no issue supporting the weight of the coffee as it's being pressed into the cup. How can you get much stronger than this guy? I guess if they made a titanium version.The machining of this mug is awesome. Very minimalist looking, almost like a "civil-war era" type mug. It's surprisingly lite weight and the insulations is phenomenal. My coffee stays hot longer than my more traditional- porcelain, type mugs. Also, you don't feel the heat of the coffee at all if you were to put your hand around the mug when not using the handle.I am very very pleased with this purchase - looks, feel, insulation, and would gladly buy more. I had no shipping issues which several of the bad reviews seemed to write about. But for the price and what you're getting, you can't beat this mug!

Five stars in the short-term, which I almost never do ... but barring that the brazed-on handle falls off, it is good to go.I bought mine primarily to replace the last mug I will ever knock over and break (that was one I owned) - which broke - and this seems like it will do that job. Above and beyond that, though, it does keep my coffee or hot apple cider hotter longer. So much so that I have to put an ice-cube in with it if I want to drink it before I head out to work.But then this thing gets even better - a 12 ounce bottle of beer will fit in this mug with about 3/4 of an inch to spare at the top. I really don't drink a lot, but I do pay a good deal for the most interesting micro-brews I can find, then savor one after work about two or three nights a week. With this double-walled mug that beer stays colder far longer, and that makes my sipping beers all the more enjoyable.I spent a lot of time reading the stats and reviews of mugs just to try to choose one, and while I really didn't find out much, I don't think I could have been any luckier with the outcome.

My old stainless mug was a second hand find that served me well for 6 years, developing dents & dings from travel & outdoor use that added to its character over time. Sadly, its handle was plastic & fastened to the mug itself with screws, using prongs on the mug which finally failed recently, and the handle came off for good.This little guy arrived just this morning. I can honestly say the quality of manufacture is about as flawless as you can get. The handle is also stainless steel and is clearly welded to the mug itself for good.Looking forward to many mornings of coffee & evenings of beer, at home or around the campfire.

I like these, they are what I expected. They are nicely insulated and hold a decent cup of coffee. They keep the coffee hotter longer than a ceramic mug, but because they are not covered, the coffee will eventually get cold. But it doesn't hold so much that the coffee should be around long enough to actually get cold. If you are looking for something that will keep coffee hot three or four hours, get a covered insulated tumbler. I don't know if these are dishwasher-safe or not, but I spend the minute and hand wash/dry them.

This cup keeps hot drinks hot for a long time.....much longer than a ceramic mug. But what is really amazing is how cold it keeps a drink. Your ice cubes will still be frozen in the cup for hours and hours after you finish the drink. It's like the cup is begging you to put in more liquid!!! Even though the cup is of one piece construction, it is so well insulated that condensation does NOT form on the outside of the cup when used for an iced drink.A worthy item at a nice price.

Sadly, my expectations for this mug were not met. I read reviews and it sounded like the mug would provide some insulation/keep my coffee warmer than a ceramic mug. It did NOT and, since it cannot be microwaved, it ends up being a poor replacement fory ceramic mugs.Would not recommens this mug for got beverages.

I absolutely love this SS mugs because they worked great in our camper this summer! I got sick of our ceramic mugs breaking as we went down bumpy roads on our camping trips - so took to Amazon to find a SS alternative. As an added bonus - these kept our coffee hotter, longer, than ceramic mugs, too. We even tried them out with a cold beer - and that was kept cold longer, as well. All in all -- I would highly recommend these and plan to get our loved ones some as fun Christmas gifts this year, too!
